In 2009 I bought a 1996 Mercedes SL that had a D3 installed. It has worked well until last week when the battery had to be disconnected several times to troubleshoot a soft top problem and get the windows to work correctly. Now when the ignition is turned on, it shows the warning for the navigation function, shuts down and displays "Off" in the upper left corner.
If I reset it by pressing the button, I can put in the password and the navigation will function until the ignition is cycled, then same sequence. If I press the button to go to Audio, the "Off" sign immediately returns.
