That is kinda what I was thinking to begin with.....I am hoping that brief delay along with a pretty lound security system may make someone think twice.....not much more you can ask for I guess.. Thanks as always!!!!

Would the tint help keep the glass from shattering....?....or is there such a thing as a window treatment that help keep the glass together. I know it will only slow someone down; however, I am thinking that along with a couple of really loud sirens, MIGHT, slow somone down enough to think twice.

The pennsylvania vehicle code states that the light transmittence must be greater than 70%.....is that something I should tell the installer?? I have never done anything like this before and was wondering what the standard is....

I have thought of window tint actually.. Isn't there some kind of window treatment / tint available that keeps the glass from shattering to delay entry??? I am not sure what the Pennsylvania laws are about actual tint ....I am going to have to check into that..... Thanks for the feedback....

So, I am planning on investing my income tax rebate check toward security toward my D3. I have an 07 Ford Escape...nothing fancy...nothing that would draw attention to it from the outside at all.....and was wondering what everyone on here thought would be the best security system or options to keep people OUT of my car.... I am not sure I need all of the anti theft features offered by high priced, big named systems.....All I want is a great system to keep people OUT of my car and away from my D3.....and I would like decent remote start capabilities as well.........Any suggestions?

Hey all.... I finally broke down and bought a backup camera for my D3. I have no real need for it what so ever, however, they looked like fun so I got one. Anyway, I bought a Boyo 420 (thanks for the tips by the way...amazon was the way to go) and was wondering if there is any other place besides the license plate frame to mount it? Would there be any advantage or disadvantage to mounting it higher up, say beneath the cargo frame on the top of the car? Just curious is all.....any feedback is appreciated as always!!!

Not sure how you paired the two; however, it can be done. I have an 8300 paired with my D3 and everything works great except the voice dial prompts can't be heard through the car speakers (which is a pioneer defect...won't work no matter which phone you have) I am not sure if the 8100 will pair or not; however, I am pretty sure the 8100 doesn't have the object push bluetooth feature needed to get your phone book to transfer.....Good Luck!!
