1. If you go to the Settings menu in the Main screen there is a Volume button that give you control over all beeps and noises, nav voice and finally Phone Voice Volume. Be careful when you increase it because I bumped mine up a few notches and when my wife called me the other day...It scared the shit out of me and I had to hurry and readjust the volume.
2. I would go with the 700p if you want to get a Treo. Verizon is actually in the process of dropping the 700w as soon as they fulfill their order requirements. Have you thought of just replacing your 6700 through warranty? Everyone that I have ever talked to have very little problems with their 6700. I have two clients setup on these phones (19 6700's total) and I never hear from them about phone problems. The other client that I have all have Treo's of different models and I spend 2-3 days per week solving various problems. What specific problems are you having with the 6700?
3. I agree with Nick...I also had the 700W...as I've stated in several posts...and it WAS/IS a Piece of Crap not only for the Bluetooth. Do yourself a favor and get the xv6700 or get a plain cell phone with bluetooth. Palm has ALWAYS had problems with bluetooth and their signal strength. Since switching to the 6700 I have only had one dropped call where with the 700W and 650 I was dropping about every 3 calls.
4. The best software to use is free...It's DVDShrink and DVD Decrypter/DVDFAB Decrypter. It works great! I've been using it for two years and have very few problems. Nero's burning engine is what is used to actually burn the DVD once it is encoded and "Shrunk" or fit onto a 4.5gig DVD. You will have to try different DVD brands and then when you find one that works buy 500 of them because they change quite a bit. I have about 6 different brands right now that I will try burning the same movie to this weekend and report the brand names and what worked/didn't work.
5. Mine is the Verizon...Yes they do transfer, but ONE BY ONE... it's a little painful especially if you have tons of contacts like me(1200+) I've only input about 150 and doubt I will enter anymore. I have a ProClip mount for my 6700 so I can see who is calling before I answer. It does get to be a pain in the ass because I get so many calls that I end up not getting to listen to any music. I've started turning my bluetooth off when I don't want to talk...
6. My wife has the Q and it's ok. I have the 6700 and it works fine. I had a 47 minute call the other day while on the road and never had a problem. I did at first, but found out that you had to setup the Z1 as the first bluetooth device and marry it to the Z1. I don't use any headsets anymore since I have the Z1. If you think that going to another PDA will get rid of your problems...think again...Especially with a Treo. They are the worst. You need to stick with the 6700. My Z1 recognizes my wife's Q when she gets in the truck with me and actually allows calls for her and you can hear her
7. Mac...I bet that Pioneer told you that. They told me that NO PDA's or SmartPhones would work with the Z1...After many calls to Pioneer for support I just tried it on my own. Everything on my 6700 and Z1 works just like on the phone. I had the Treo700W before this and that was a nightmare. That is truly the worst phone ever released. I've said this before(grin).... My ringtone even plays through my speakers...
8. I have a Verizon 6700 and it works flawless with my Z1 now that I figured out that I needed to set it into Discovery mode. Now it works great. It discovers it as soon as the Z1 boots up and when I shut off the vehicle and get out it drops right down to the headset. I had the Treo 700W...That is the biggest piece of shit phone ever produced. I spent hours just trying to get it to work with all the services it comes with. I went through constant dropped calls no matter where I went. I loved the Palm OS and then tried the PocketPC with the 700W and I almost went back to Palm. The Verizon sto
9. I didn't think they were worth the extra money until I heard them. Here is the website http://www.focal-america.com/Products/O ... cator.html It looks like there are quite a few dealers so listening to them might not be a problem.

Online Warranty

That last one that I bought into was pure crap. You pull the deck or pay for it to be pulled...send it to the warranty company...they send it to the ACTUAL repair center. The ACTUAL repair center sends the radio to you and you pay the bill then submit the bill to the Warranty company and then the real fight starts. You have to fight for every little nickle spent. They don't pay for what they don't think was wrong. The item they really don't like paying for is a screen. My uncle owns one of the largest repair facilities in the South and he refuses to deal with any of these types of warra
11. Negri21...Try Crutchfield...I ordered one today and it's coming in tomorrow.

Crazy bluetooth

This is the newest model available according to Crutchfield. They are on National Backorder everywhere. They just got these in a day before I ordered mine.
13. I got them at a local dealer that I really don't like dealing with. I paid $260 a pair for the 5x7's. I can get the number for you. They do ship. I had never heard of them either until I went by on my last attempt to find some good 5x7's. I was simply amazed at the difference. Then name of the place is David's Car Audio in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have a website for FoCal somewhere. I'll post it as soon as I find it again...

Crazy bluetooth

Very Common with the Treo...They suck when it comes to Bluetooth compared to cheaper phones. That is just the problems that I used to deal with on the Treo. I thought it was just crappy Bluetooth headsets, but it was the phone. Even the newer Treo 700's are crappy on Bluetooth.
15. I've been a long time BA fan, but I just installed some FoCal speakers that just shame the BA's. They are a little more than the BA's, but waaayy worth it. There are some others here that have these speakers.
