  1. So then there is no way to get what I want it seems. That sucks. I just want feet to show between 880 - 5279, without the text "ft".
  2. See my post above this one. If you didnt change your navigatemap.ui file to have the gps.elevation field instead of navigation.current_altitude.number_text then you wont have "ft". My guess is that you are either seeing 0.2 (or above) miles, or live at an elevation below 820 feet or so which will correctly show the number of feet, without "ft". I'm trying to get it to show something like "3240" (if I should drive to that elevation).
  3. I did some more testing. Went back to a clean data.zip and did not change the elevation to gps.elevation. In KM/M mode, it displayed in meters, without an "m". The same held true for Mi/Yards, it did not show a "y". With Miles/Feet selected, it would display the number of feet without "ft" up to around 820, at which point it would switch over to 0.2 (miles) with no units. Then I tried it with the gps.elevation in the file, and it would display feet digits just fine, never switching to 0.2 miles or whatever, but "ft" was always there. So I am thinking its something to do with the al
  4. Adding .number_text to the end of gps.elevation makes it disappear completely, so I guess that means it doesnt like it. I guess for now I will just reduce the size, and try and position it inside the sign borders until a different solution is found (if one is). To rule out one other thing, I am using the EZRIDER from this post: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27989 (ezrider_alt_mod.zip). Thats the correct one right?
  5. Is there somewhere else that units get changed besides in the UI on the Regional settings page? I tried all 3 settings there (KM/M, Mi/Y, and Mi/Ft) and each time I got units displayed (M, Y, or ft). Let me ask this, a particular scheme wouldnt affect that would it? I really dont know what else to look for.
  6. So you can see what mine is doing compared to your's in the first post: For now I guess I will play around with a smaller font to get it all inside the sign border, but if you figure out what I need to change to make the "ft" go away, let me know please. Thanks again for all your hard work on these mods!!
  7. I actually want to hide the units. Maybe I messed something up on my editing, I will recheck it all and re-flash it. *update* I re-did the mod to the navigatemap file, and repackaged a clean data.zip, uploaded to my car, erased saved data, and while NOT navigating, I get units displayed which extends outside the graphic. Example: "816 ft". In your image on the first page, there is no units being displayed (that I can see). Any ideas on how to fix it to hide the units? The other option would be to shrink the font down enough to get it all in the box, and I might play with that, but I
  8. Oh I just looked on page one at your screen shots, and see the issue. Mine is displaying "880 ft." (or maybe it was "880 feet") and yours just has the digits (in this case it would be "880"). How do I fix that?
  9. it's in navigatemap_800_480.ui in the 800_480 folder Oops, thats the one I meant. Do I need to change it down in this spot too: . . . So far, I changed it in this section only: ;ELEVATION Also, do you have a suggestion on a good font size for the elevation? 26 (or was it 28) is too big, I'm going to try 20 next, but if you knew what size would work best in that box, it might save me a few trips and flashes.
  10. know which file I need to look in for that? *edit* think I found it, navigatemap.ui ? I was searching for the whole string in each file and didnt find it, but then searched for just "current_altitude" and located it in a few spots.
  11. Well I am sticking with this version for the time being, dont think I will have time to get version 3 going and tested befor my long road trip. One question thats been nagging me for a while, and I thought I had it fixed, am I not able to get the elevation sign to read in feet at all times? I've installed the alt-mod'ed EZRIDER but I'm sitting here at about 860 feet above sea level and its reading 0.2 miles. Is there something else I need to change?
  12. What doesn't show up on my theme? The image.res file has no dependence on the NAV section and runs totally independent, so it should have no effect on the Nav at all I meant some of the schemes dont show up in the selection list on the avic. or maybe they have a different name on the screen than the actual file name? I've verified that all 60 schemes copied over to my SD card, but some dont appear in the list, such as: NEWMOON, MOON_FOG, moon_rain, JohnCougar2-Night (but JohnCouger2-nite does). I am using your scheme.zip from page 20 of this thread.
  13. So far so good on all my stuff I did yesterday. Have not tried the map changer yet, but TA maps (2009.06) running off of the SD card (in fact all of Contents is running off SD card) just fine! The new maps are so much better than the old 2008.10 I had. Getting speed limits on all small roads in my small town, used to be just on major highways. Love the skin #2 also. Cant wait to see Skin #3! One thing I did notice is with Abb1's newest scheme.zip, not all of those seem to show up on the Avic. Or maybe the file name doesnt match up with the name on the avic. Is that possible? I'll
  14. Ok changes made. Quick question on the map_nt and moved "map" folder. What comes of the building, dem and poi folders? do both Navteq and Teleatlas setups use the same set (thus I need only 1 copy of building, dem, poi and have to decide whose are better)? Or is something else going on?
