  1. I think thats just the way it is... Same way with my galaxy s3. I think of it as there is no hard track button on the phone itself, so how could it work in AppMode ya know? If you wanted to switch tracks on your phone (not in the car) you have to open itunes and switch tracks, same way in appmode.
  2. It doesnt NEED power when ignition is on, only if you feel the need to look backwards when not in reverse...
  3. My tahoe had a reverse wire in the radio harness, ran that to the unit. If yours doesnt have that, run another wire from the positive reverse light circuit (same wire that powers the camera) to the head unit. Then make sure the radio turns to reverse mode with "battery" in the camera settings. I have the 8500bhs and it has the option of being triggered with power or ground.
  4. If i am only connected thru bluetooth, audio plays and is controlled like normal (change tracks, etc). When i connect mhl and ARL, the audio sounds different (poor, no EQ) almost like the audio signal is being routed thru the port on the phone rather than over BT, volume and tracks can only be controlled on the phone. When i switch audio source to pandora (still in AppMode), then the audio goes back to normal and i can control the volume on the HU, but cant switch tracks unless i go to my media player and switch tracks. If i switch to HD radio with music still playing on the phone, they will p
  5. I used 1600x1000 and it worked. 800x400 did not. Max is 8192x7680 per the manual.
  6. I loaded a random pic to the USB and it was fine... but the background images downloaded from this site wont work?! I think it is a size issue, I googled some potential background images, picked a 1600x1000 sized one and it worked...
  7. Trying to upload a custom background image via USB or SD and the HU won't even let me view the image. It is a 800x400 jpeg Chevy bowtie logo I downloaded from this forum, put into a folder named "Pictures", and plugged in the USB. When I hit the "media" button while in the USB source and select images, it says "Unplayable file". Any ideas?
  8. Out of the 3 ways I attempted to hook up the GS3 and run in AppMode, the only one that works was this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+HDMI+Adapter+for+Most+MHL-Enabled+Mobile+Phones/8620045.p?id=1218879413234&skuId=8620045&st=8620045&cp=1&lp=1 The ones that DID NOT work were: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-CDAH200C-Appradio-Adapter-Android/dp/B007YCZT58/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366422041&sr=8-1&keywords=pioneer+mhl combined with: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EPL-FU10BEGSTA-11-pin-Adapter-MHL-enabled/dp/B0089VO86Y/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&am
  9. App mode and S3 dont get along well... Mine works intermittently. You need the S3 specific MHL cable, then cross your fingers if it works. My aftermarket MHL cable hardly works. Gonna try the official pioneer android kit and samsung adapter and see if that works better.
  10. I have the same issue with my S3 and my 8500BHS...Gonna try the pioneer android connectivity kit with the S3 5-11 pin adapter and see if that will work. I am currently using a $11 amazon MHL S3 cable and have problems with it. Screen goes to static, flickers, then goes blank. Sometimes works for 3 seconds, sometimes works for 20 minutes.
