  1. I tried mp4 and mkv burned from my macbook to a dvd but it didn't recognize the disk when I put it in the 8500. I think it may have to do with burning from a mac but who knows. I'm probably not the best person to test this out for you.
  2. I'll do my best to provide some information: 1 - I don't see why it wouldn't work over there. But that said if you are looking to add Sirius I don't think you can get that outside of North America. You also didn't mention what type of car you have so that would be a consideration 2 - So the thing with using iPhone Maps is yes you can pull up the map on the unit in AppRadio mode. There is no way that I can find to use it for navigation. I've also noticed if you pull it up it doesn't do a good job of updating the map as you move off the map. As far as working down under I don't see
  3. This is the one I've been using with my unit and haven't had a problem with any Apps in AppRadio mode or with DVD's. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A9AQPUU/ref=pe_175190_21431760_3p_M3T1_ST1_dp_1
  4. My defective Apple adapter came from Amazon don't think I mentioned that. Bought one today at the Apple store. All good now.
  5. I hope the new unit solves it. At least you will know through a process of elimination what the issue is. I got a new lightning cable today and connects every time. Now I finally get to enjoy it. Waiting on two more items to finish up my install in the Golf a uber stealth sub box and amp rack.
  6. I just checked the manual and it doesn't show under AppRadio Mode that the 3rd generation touch is compatible. Here's what it lists: iPod touch 5th generation iPod touch 4th generation iPhone 5 iPhone 4S iPhone 4 Sorry you are having so much trouble with this. I know it was frustrating for me until I isolated my connection issue. My only suggestion at this point is to go back through everything and make sure it your using to the specs in the manual: USB1 connection for your lightning cable, try an iPhone 5 that isn't JB, test your bypass by watching a DVD(this should tell you it's work
  7. Or his bypass isn't working or bad?? I'm using what looks like the same bypass and I'm not experiencing the same issue. I started having connection issues again. Finally brought the lightening digital AV adapter in to give it a try. Same characteristics working on my TV. Would connect but it wasn't consistent. Looks like I'll need to pick up a new one tomorrow and give it a try.
  8. I always start by using the AppRadio app and not the CarMediaPlayer. The appradio app on the iphone is what brings up the app menu and from there you can go into the various apps including CarMediaPlayer, contacts, calendar, etc. I haven't spent much time going directly to CarMediaPlayer first. Since I re-established my bluetooth connection I haven't been having trouble connecting. Looks like I'm good for now.
  9. I'm using bypass: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A9AQPUU/ref=pe_175190_21431760_3p_M3T1_ST1_dp_1 I just went to check again to see if it would connect and it did right away. I installed a few apps and it froze on the apple install screen on the pioneer screen. Almost like when a PC locks up. I pressed mode, disconnected the iphone and was back in the mode of not being able to connect. I turned off bluetooth on my iphone and then turned it back on. I was then able to connect right away. Are you launching the AppRadio iphone app before you connect? If your not doing this I would try
  10. I'm running 8.19. iPhone is at 6.1.3. I turned back on apps. When I did this I got the same condition as the OP. I then disconnected the iPhone, closed and reopened the app on the iPhone, plugged it back in and then it worked correctly. T switch between others and iphone(digital AV). You have to turn off Bluetooth on the phone disconnect the iPhone and then you can go into settings and change it. It states that right on the screen.
  11. The biggest problem I'm having with this radio and my iphone5 is it recognizing the iphone. I have to plug it in then check to see if it connected. It doesn't then I reconnect it. I have to do this several times and then it will eventually recognize it well some times. Are you sure in settings you have it set to Iphone(digital av)? I know obvious question. I have noticed that I have more luck if I have app radio app running on the iphone but minimized and on the home screen when I connect. It will then ask to allow it switch on the iphone and I click allow. Maybe try that. Wh
