I have a follow up question. I recently installed the app extensions and everything works. The problem I'm having is everytime i dicsonnect the phone from the lightning adapter the radio toggles to OFF. I have to turn the radio back on each time i disconnect the phone. This oocurs while playing music from Pandora etc. Prior to the app ext install the phone would defaut to bluetooth if the phone was disconnect from the cable. It would not power off. Has anyone ran into this issue? Or is it possible I changed a HU setting by mistake that makes the unit power off when the phone is unplugged from

Dish Aynwhere app is my favorite. Gives me ability to change channels from the headunit. My only complaint is the screen size is smaller when using the app ext as oppose to mirroring the device.

no crashes so far. fingers crossed. However when i installed tvtuner out a few weeks ago every app i had on my phone crashed. I know this is pointed out as a known problem on the first page, but was a big problem for me for an hour or so before i figured out what was going on.

LOL. ok ok. after the reboot and knowing to look in the STOCK settings. Everything is working. Thanks again for your help... Only glitch i had at first was with lanscape lock on and text message being visible was when i disconnected the iphone from the lightning connecter all my text were still showing in lanscape even with the phone upright. I removed the txt message from being shown in the menu and toggled lanscape lock on and off and its working fine now. Glad I found this forumn THANKS!

Yes didnt see any unsupported apps on the HU or the phone. Doing a reeboot now. Are the settings you refer to on the phone or HU ? I dont see App Ex settings in either location. Thanks for replies and please overlook my ignorance on this.

Thanks for the reply Aznluder. I read through most pages of the post. I think i'm still missing something. I downloaded all dependencies and the 2.0.0-173 in cydia. I dont know how open an unsupported app. I'll read back through the post to see if i missed something but any advice is appreciated.

Hi, I am also new to the site and would like to know if its possible to use the app extentions on the new pioneer 8500BHS. I have the app radio app, Jailbroke iphone 5 running version 6.1. If it s not available now, Mike do u see it being possible in future? The HU is great but would like to be able to use more of the unsupported apps from the phone. Right now I can mirror anything through the display but have no touch functions on the HU other than the basic supported ones like pandora. Not sure that this HU has advanced app mode?
