Wondering if I should just bite the bullet and get the ND-BC5 or 6, or is there another camera that is superior or equal to the performance, including night viewing capabilities? I'm not up to speed at all on these cameras which is why I ask, will be mounted on a GMC Envoy. The smaller the better for aesthetic reasons.

Currently has stock radio...no nav, I have the D3 in my envoy but the only caveat is the scrolling feature that is painfully slow...appears to still filter to the newer models. Trying to stay under $1200 and was looking at the Kenwoods because of this. Do any if the newer Pioneers have it where I can choose a letter to begin with as opposed to scrolling from "A" everytime? Also, for the hacks, the D3 was a breeze, I definately want to be able to access all NAV functions while driving so please recommend me a unit that's fairly easy to hack. Am I missing something that with the Sirius on the D3, you cannot display the artist and title of song at the same time without scrolling through the "Disp"?? Figure in "Detail" mode, the large box in the lower left of the screen would display all the info.

I know it's a bit of work to update a map, but for the original sale price then $150 for an update...a bit on the very steep side IMO. Kinda upset at Pioneer for asking such a price for an update to it's customers.

I have the D3 in my 02 Envoy w/ bose and i'm starting to lose the left speaker when the volume is below about 12-14. When I turn it up, it kicks back on but it will go out again when I decrease the vol after a short while...any ideas?

Going to purchase a dedicated hardwire unit for the D3 to utilize the functions of the head unit. Are there different ones avail or one dedicated to the D3?

I don't understand how it can be easier IMO, I just used a blue butt connector and joined 3 wires that way.

That's a very poor design IMO, two different peeps at Pioneer told me the same thing that you could display selected POI's along the saved route because the route is narrow when saved and doesn't require huge amounts of memory. You just couldn't access additional POI's without inserting the disc, you had to use what was pre-selected. Think about it, you save a route then want to play a movie for the back-seaters..but need to stop the movie for a stupid icon that could'nt be stored if you need fuel.....that's ridiculous. I don't need lakes, streams, neighborhoods streets 3 miles on either side

I have been through the search, called Pioneer and I still cant get this to work the way I want....Pioneer says it will work. If I plot a route say from VA to GA, along I95....all I want it to display is a gas station and maybe a fast-food joint, I cannot get it to do this. I did the POI overlay, chose gas stations and fast-food, plotted my route and removed the NAV disc and it will not display these POI's. I don't need detailed imagery 5 miles from my route just a simple icon along the way. Believe me if this thing can store 600 miles of roads or more I surely hope it can put up a few icons w

Can I tap this wire before it gets to the control module as an AC signal or will the D3 divide the signal?

I thought the B9 wire behind the cluster was the VSS reference wire but the D3 is not reading this signal. Is this the correct wire?

In response to the opening post, cuz I have one on order ....can you program a route say about 2-300 miles and store that in memory or is that long of a route too large? So you don't have to load the disc as often.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet and forgive me if this is common knowledge but...can you have NAV on the head unit and play a DVD while driving having it output to a headrest monitor and not the main screen?

First post so just wanna say what's up. I'm looking hard for a Z2 as I feel the jump over the D3 is worthwhile. As far as the nav graphics are concerned, is it a big difference over the D3 or is it the same? Also, I see there are a number of places to get this on the net especially the bay, is there any company or companies I should avoid. I figure the places that are getting rid of them for a grand new in box should throw up a red flag but just want to ask to be sure. Thanks for any input.
