  1. Reduced the file size to under 100k on each one...no difference.
  2. So I made up some custom splash screens to use on my Z140BH but when I try to upload them onto the unit it gives me an error message about format instead. The pictures are on the SD card in the Picture folder and are JPEG format, sized 800*418 (the actual correct size i believe for the 7" screen) with the largest file size as 211KB, and the smallest 139KB. Any idea why this isn't working???
  3. Hey Guys & Gals, Looking for some help with a new splash screen. I have the Z140BH, which seems to come out to 800x418 picture size if my math is correct? I am looking for a splash screen that incorporates the mercury marauder in it and I have included 2 different pictures I would like to try as the background. The interior light color is a yellow green so I would like to incorporate the text in that color on the darker picture, then black text is fine on the lighter one. Would like the "NAVIGATION LOADING...PLEASE WAIT" as well as a features icon list (pandora, SD, Aha, Blueto
  4. Need some help guys, I got the Avic-Z140BH as the appropriate suggested wiring harness, XM tuner, backup camera, and dash kit. So I am trying to solder up the wiring harness from the new unit to the wiring harness adapter and found that in the manual it states you connect the right rear speaker wires to the sub and don't connect the left rear speaker wires.... So this means my rear speakers won't be hooked up...and instead my sub will. How do I hook up my factory amp/sub and keep my factory speakers also? I am installing in a 2003 Mercury Marauder which has a factory sub/amp in the trunk. So
  5. I spent some time on Crutchfield tonight looking through customer reviews on the zt140bh and saw LOTS of bad reviews stating the nav was way off, the interface was hard to use due to button size, the sound from the H/U was horrible, and was slow to respond? This is strange as the X940BT had much better reviews...is this something to worry about with the Z? I was leaning towards it, but after reading sooo many bad reviews I am now reconsidering the X940BT....
  6. Thanks for the reply. I am currently using burned CDs in a disk changer +1 disk in radio, with the stock system, not really any other option with it lol. You do bring up a good point though, that I will be using MP3s on SD so I won't need to open and close it much. I know I will need a steering wheel adaptor, and install kit. I see the Z140BH includes HD radio & traffic...don't know if I will use either? How big of SD card does the Z140BH support?
  7. Hey Everyone, The vehicle I will be referencing is a 2003 Mercury Marauder (faster Mercury Grand Marquis with factory sub and amp). It is completing stock and will be mostly staying that way. So I am looking for everything to be factory looking and the least amount of modifications possible in case I sell it. So I will NOT be putting a sub box in the trunk, want any buttons on the faceplate surround to match interior light color or darn close. The factory radio is going out and a replacement will run me almost $300 so I figure I mine as well spend a little more and get a nav unit. The Mara
