  1. thanks for the suggestions, while simple I hadn't thought of them, I called my wife while stationary with engine running and with ignition off in memory mode, she said the noise was not present so I will relocate the mic, possibly to the swivel arm of the sun visor, I'm even considering cutting it and splicing it in to the factory mic in the head liner
  2. thanks for answering but I'd like a different answer, work around etc
  3. I have the Z150 installed in a 2011 GMC Sierra with OnStar integration. The mic is attached to the base of my shifter just behind the steering wheel. I am using an iPhone 5. Callers complain of a constant drumming or thumping noise. They do not complain of a windy noise. Any idea why it would sound like someone hitting a drum?
  4. Did you connect the vehicle speed sensor wire? I did on mine despite bypassing the parking brake and I kept getting issues. They went away when I disconnected the speed sensor. Now my issue- on the NAV screen, I get a message about the speed pulse, does anyone know how to eliminate the message? Ground or bypass the speed pulse for example?? http://flic.kr/p/jhuFt8
  5. funny thing is I was about to post a similar topic, did they install it as a parking brake override? they may have connected the vehicle speed wire and that's betraying you, I think that may be the problem on mine, I installed it myself and I'll get in there this weekend to disconnect that wire
  6. I'm not sure if you're offering a solution or airing your issues....
  7. and by the way, I am the supermanotorious SoundManCarAudio responds to in his discussing the Z110
  8. well obviously I know the difference between the technologies but I can not figure out how to properly use Pandora and the iPod function of my iPhone 5 on my Z150. When I first installed the AVIC I ran the software update and simply connected the phone with the USB to lightening cable, I saw the iPod and Pandora on the AVIC and could control the tracks but sound came from the phone, at one point the phone asked for playback on the phone or on the AVIC, I chose AVIC but the choice never came back again and sound kept coming through the phone. Since then I used the lightening to HDMI and have it
  9. Hey guys I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I had the AVIC Z110 in a 2009 Jeep Patriot and an iPhone 4, now I have the Z150 in a 2011 GMC Sierra and an iPhone 5. I am a former car audio / home theater installer and still do some side jobs. I hope you guys will answer some of my questions and I'm happy to answer yours!
  10. What connection did you make to the monitors? Have you turned the rear video setting "on" in the AVIC settings menu?
