Hey, I have a replacement lcd on ebay right now for sale, not sure if that will fix the problem or not, it could be the ribbon cable going bad. Heres the item number. 170141465185

does anyone know the part number or name that has to be replaced in the d1 for the screen to open and close everytime you hit the button. I know of a guy on ebay that will do it but he wont tell me what to do, he wants an assload to do the repair. I had sold this and it started acting up and the guy wants a refund and I just need to get this fixed asap so I don't have to somehow shit $500. Thanks

Has anyone had problems with a brain just not working? I got a n2 and I do plenty of repairs on these systems and I put in a new flex cable on a system that needed one, then hooked it to the brain, thinking everything was going to be fine... then the screen came out and not shit happened. I then hooked up another brain to it and it worked fine. Any solutions???

So, are you saying your display is dead to? if so you need a ribbon cable and probably a new dvd mechanism.

Alright, I had bought a 9600 the other day, it obviously needed a new ribbon cable, to make sure I hooked it up, tried opening the screen, then it shut off. I ordered 2 ribbon cables, tried both of them, then tried the old one again, and it will not turn on. I have done plenty of these repairs on the 8400/8500 and have never had a problem. Does anyone have a clue if there is something that im missing? is there some kind of button combination that I have to enter? Thanks

Well, I haven't ever tried burning a copy of that but, probably the best program to use in my opinion for projects like that is Alcohol120%. Try it and let me know what happens. I have a D1 on the way and id like to mod it as soon as I find a nav disc for it.

I have a power harness that was smashed on the plug and the wires are still good but I need to know where I can find a replacement for just the plug, or if its the same size of any other pioneer harnesses that I can switch out the wires from. Thanks

Well, I just bought one from ebay yesterday and it also has the same problem, im not sure if they are like the n series with the ribbon cable fix or not, if you can't come up with anything on fixing, ill buy it from you if you want to get rid of it. let me know.
