  1. What kind of Camera do you have? I am thinking now that maybe the Camera which I have, the Kenwood, is only meant to be powered on when the car is in reverse as was mentioned above. http://www.audiooutfitter.com/store/646261/vtl300.html This is the one I have. Love it! Comes in chrome, too. Mounts with bolts for theft security. Good night resolution and durability. I had my installer flip the camera upsidedown so it could be mounted on the bottom. See pic... HTH
  2. See attached pics for location of Speed Sense Wire... HTH
  3. It's located behind the passenger side kick panel. Basically, behind the plastic under the passenger side floor mat between where a seated passengers feet would be and the firewall of the car. I have a pick of the location in my car...not a Mazda, but might help...
  4. Here's your reverse wire.... Reverse Light green/orange or green/black passenger kick, harness to rear HTH
  5. Bad media, eh? Hate when that happens.
  6. Um, doesn't seem that your DVD is actually blank. Or you don't have a DL capable burner.
  7. excellent, Smithers...EXCELLENT!
  8. Make sure that when you insert the DVD, Alcohol shows the free space available on the blank DVD as larger than 4.2GB (like 8.3GB). If not, then you may be using a DL DVD, but you either don't have a DL capable DVD burner, or a driver problem. I'm thinking your burner isn't dual layer capable. HTH
  9. It's still just a matter of finding the right wire to tap. Even in a CAN BUS system, the signal is still there. On a new Ford Mustang, for instance, it's the dark blue/yellow wire at pin 3 on the PCM. just my $0.02
  10. All things being equal, it looks as though the image you are using could be the problem. Have you tried downloading it again?
  11. My N3 was intially set up without a speed pulse connection. It was terrible. Turn by turn was slow and often I got way ahead of the directions in locations with multiple turns in short distances. After hooking up the speed pulse...way better. System status will show 3-D Hybrid rather than "Simple" something. Most cars with ABS will have a speed pulse wire coming from the ABS sensors to the ECU. Any car with speed correcting volume on their OEM radio will have a much easier time tapping the wire. Here's where the stock speed pulse line is for an '05 Nissan Xterra straight from Dire
  12. Here's what I did... 1) made sure that the image I download was free from corruption. Compared the MD5 hash supplied with the image. 2) downloaded Alcohol 120 (trial). 3) went into Alcohol 120 options and checked option for booking DVD+R(RW) media as DVD-ROM. 4) Burned image to Verbatum DVD+R Dual Layer DVD using Alcohol 120 5) Inserted DVD into my AVIC-N3 With the exception of getting a crappy burn on bad media the first time, that's all it took. I'm happy to post expanded images, or .iso versions if it helps anyone. PM me if so. HTH
  13. I was able to download the image and got it to work. My first attempt kept giving me "read error" from my N3, and as suspected, it was simply a media error (not all blank dual layer DVD's are the same). After using a good piece of media, worked like a charm. Been on the new software for 2 weeks and no problems so far. As stated in previous posts, there are no GUI updates or interface changes. Just updated map data and POIs. The update does not erase your settings (address book, histories, EQ settings, etc are preserved). HTH
  14. The remote can be "locked" in nav only mode. I use 2 remotes, one on either side of the wheel and lock one in nav only so I don't have to guess what mode it's in. Try holding down the "voice" and either the "position" or "guide" buttons at the same time. I can't remember the combination off hand, but it's on the Pioneer site. HTH -P CDVC1OwnersManual.pdf
