  1. I recently updated my AVIC Z150BH to the current software version. After doing this, I purchased the lightning to USB adapter from a local Apple store and came home excited to set up my system with new features. The Bad: I plugged an HDMI cable and USB cable into the back of the system. On the other end, plugged both of those cables into the Apple Lightning device and then plugged that device into the iPhone 5s. When I do this, it immediately starts charging but at no point will my "App" logo become pushable when viewing the main screen that shows "Destination" "Phone" or "AV Source".
  2. Does anyone not know about this issue?? In doing some testing last night, I found that if you select the "Map" button and hold it down, it will put the screen into standby mode.. By doing this, the whien goes away.. As soon as I touch the screen, it resumes. Should I have grounded the "Light Green" wire and the newly added bypass "Wire" seperately? I crimped them and grounded them together... Would this be my problem possibly? Should I have grounded both of those wires seperately?
  3. Thanks Bud.. I have the Z150 with iPhone 5S but have been reading a ton of reviews on getting these cable extensions and getting it to actually work, so i've been holding off on setting mine up.
  4. Let me first off state that I performed the AVIC Z150 Brake Bypass. I have never recieved the error code that some others have recieved but I do in fact have a whine/whistle in my speakers at times. I connected a wire into the harness next to the mute and then grounded that newly installed wire with the light green wire to a ground. When i start up the vehicle I get the buzz/whine and normally it goes away within a few seconds, most of the time like 10 seconds max. At times though, this Buzz/Whine will stay constant the entire time I am driving and I can hear it over my sound of speakers,
  5. Does your background display that picture becuase you are connected to the iPhone?
  6. Should have said "at times" it gives a sync/charge and "at times" it does not.. Give them the "shorting out" story..
  7. I get ya now. I too was just looking at this adapter and thinking the cable was very very short. Deems the device pretty much useless when using it. I will follow closely on this thread, as I have not purchased it yet. Thanks for testing though, really appreciate someone finally doing it. As for my gripes on the system, it is alraedy in another thread.. Just felt better by posting it.. haha!
  8. Hitman: would the below LINK work for taking the buzz away? I am planning to to use this on my mids/high amp. I have the same high pitched noise at start up. Sometimes it last for only 5-10 seconds and others it stay's on the entire time.. Just randomly goes away when it wants too.. I placed a new wire to the left of the "MUTE" wire and then grounded the new wire with the light green wire.. Everything works fine.. I actually have never even gotten to error message that others are having. But the buzz drives me crazy.. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp
  9. Can't you run an HDMI cable from the back of the HU and plug it into a HDMI to Lightning Adapter and then plug into your phone and all will work just fine? I have a Z150BH as well and have been pondering on this website for over a week and have yet to figure this out 100%.. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=897281&is=REG&Q=&A=details The real only complaint I have with the system is that I did the override bypass for parking break, to play video.. When I start the car up, I have a buzz/whine through my speakers.. Sometimes its for like 5-10second
  10. I finally found it.. It was located in a sub menu that was not seen the first go around.. I have disabled the loud beep and also turned down the "Guidance Volume" for navigation.
  11. I just installed the AVIC Z150BH and I have a few questions. I am new to this forum, so any and all information will be helpful. Thank you in advance. 1. Can you turn off the chime or sound that the system makes everytime you touch a button? I can't find this in the manual or online. 2. When Nav unit is speaking directions to you, its a lot louder than the actual volume setting states. Is there anyway to turn that feature down?
  12. According to eBay the below link has a harness that supposedly works, just displays the "Nag" screen like others have posted.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151018828641&item=151018828641&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466
