1. whats up guys...just wanted to contribute my current background for my Subaru heads on here! sorry if it's too big...
2. well one reason you would want it out is for car shows or meets. what good is a flip screen if you can't show it off to your friends when you check out each other's cars? lets be realistic here. i personally have mine setup to fold in when the igniton shuts off, but wouldn't mind knowing how to change it. what menu is this option in?
3. The shop is right..they most likely used the PAC adaptor for the integrated steering wheel controls. Unfortunately the way it works with the Pioneer is exactly as you described, less intuitive than the factory Honda setup. These units are limited in their functions due to the fact that they are usually made to be universal solution for the manufacturer's vehicle line as opposed to a setup specifically designed to your truck. Out of curiosity, why did you install the z1 instead of buying a Ridgeline w/navi? The Honda navigation setup is pretty damn good.
4. Clay, you're going to have to be a lot more specific with the details of your install to get the right info. lets start with the year & model accord. you'll need a wiring schematic of your particular model...an adaptor harness is probably available but with many of the new model accords that have integrated hvac/radio controls it gets really iffy w/ aftermarket HU install's. I have plenty of access to wiring diagrams if you need it - i am a parts guy at a Honda dealership. every install is a little different, so there is no one "DIY" guide to follow. Chances are though that this
5. ^^^ can't find your other post about bypassing this. more info please - this sounds right up my alley.
6. sounds like normal operation...every review i've read on the avic series of HU's online complains about how noisy the internal fans are. mine does the same, and so does a friend's who has a N3.
7. well after re-reading the manual on pioneer.com, i figured it out. damn end user error  i was pressing play on the wrong screen, trying to make a menu "play" and not actually selecting a dvd chapter....now i feel like a total newbie. THE BRIGHT SIDE IS...my avic works! WOOT!
8. hey guys..I'm new to the forums here. a quick question- I recently bought a used N1 from someone on one of my Subaru forums. apparently he was running the 1.2 software which locks out dvd's. when i installed the unit in my car, i grounded the ebrake switch to bypass the lockout, but i still can't get a dvd to play, ebrake on or off. the menu loads, but when i press play it gives me the red "no play" circle with the line through it. is there some way to reset the headunit other that the reset button on the control panel and load up 1.1? or should ground the HU to the ebrake?
