  1. FYI The password ended up being '2754 '. apparently when my friend set the password they tried to use their typical 4 digit pin like password, but w/ the 5 character minimum requirement, they just entered a trailing space. Awesome. Felt so stupid trying every combo of that password / hint last week, but that. Last Monday before the shop was going to pull the deck and ship to Pioneer, they were able to try that password and unlock. I gave them the link and instructions from this forum and the microSD card I put the testmode file on for their patience. It would be nice if they looked to see
  2. I have a screenshot from my deck that my friend set the password / hint on when they were using my car a few years ago, but I can't decipher what the actual password is. I called them and they of course don't remember setting a password, but the hint is what they usually use as a password. Have tried everything, and my understanding is that the password needs to be 5-15 characters. Here is a screenshot https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3AIBDFs8qAfc2Z1ZnJDOXZjU1U My car is sitting at the car stereo shop, waiting for the password to be input, or the deck to be ripped out and sent to Pio
  3. I was able to fix it yesterday by simply changing the text display in map mode from street to 'now playing' Once I did that, I could see the album art in the corner in map view, and was able to switch to the map view to iPod and was able to see it. After that, changing between what's displayed in the bottom of map view back and forth didn't seem to break it again, so it must be some really weird and obscure bug.
  4. Fair enough. My OCD and I thank you!
  5. Has anyone had a problem where all of a sudden there head unit stopped displaying album art? I was driving the other day and with the setup I have- AVIC-X950BH CD-AH200C / Samsung MHL adapter / SG3 - Center console iPod / Cables - Glove box Anyways, the iPod stopped working, and I ended up having to restart it (not reset). After I did that, no album art. I've tried everything I've done in the past to fix this issue, including erasing the iPod, and restoring it with a backup, and re-syncing with iTunes, and am about to try MediaMonkey. Where it gets weird is that Pandora, which uses m
  6. Yeah, I use android and so it uses bluetooth to transfer contacts, and make/receive calls. I can only make calls from the phone itself, not the head unit. I can receive calls, and transfer contacts though. Weird- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nzCzw51JMI#t=3m
  7. Really? I was sure people had figured that out. What'd the mod people are discussing all about then? I swear I have seen people post they removed that damn NAG screen.
  8. Yeah, you are right, and that's absolutely the case. You need to have an iPhone, or Android paired before you get those A/V sources.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if I was missing something, because I didn't see any VR options on the HU. I use AppRadio Unchained, so I have my android screen mirrored on my deck, and so I can use any voice commands from there I guess. Anyone get their steering wheel voice command button to connect to their phone via Bluetooth and launch an app like Google Voice Search? Thanks, Jon
  10. Has anyone ever had a problem where they cannot make calls from their head unit, but can transfer contacts, and receive calls? Anytime I try I get "Unable to make phone call, please check your phone connection". What's weird is that I have two AVIC-X950BH units, and only one of them is doing this. What's even more strange, if I pair a phone other than mine (SG3 CM 11.2) like a stock SG4, it works just fine. I called Pioneer, and they were stumped. Anyone ever seen something like this? Thanks, Jon
  11. Hello, I have a Subaru Outback 2013, and of course went with the model w/o NAV so I could put in a Pioneer HU. I have the harmon kardon edition, and it has lots of steering wheel controls, and with the stock stereo I could hit the voice command button, and make phone calls, play songs, etc... I currently use an iPod, and an android w/ MHL adapter with the CD-AH200C kit, and use AppRadio Unchained. Anyways, I have two questions with the AVIC-X950BH; 1) What are, and how do I use the voice recognition commands? I haven't seen any mention in the manual, but I have seen people discuss VR
  12. Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but what's the easiest way to move the constant nag screen after booting on units with NAV? I have ARU and I have to hit OK 2-3 times before I can get to my phone's screen. TIA! Jon
  13. I just had a X950BH installed, and the Pandora, and Aha icons missing as sources? I am not even at the point of trying AppRadio, ARLiberator, the kit described here; http://www.appradioworld.com/2013/08/how-to-correctly-connect-samsung-galaxy.html Anyways, I only have two sources whether plugged in, or paired with bluetooth- HD Radio bluetooth My X850BT works fine with Pandora, and presumably aha if I wanted it. Anyone seen this issue? Thanks, Jon
