  1. what kind of car is this in? output headphone jack????? the front jack is a input.... not output. if your factory radio uses a external factory amp. that may be where your problem lies... either need to use a amp turn on or bypass the factory amp
  2. i currently work at best buy and we have the d3 on display. I also have the Z2 in my car. I love the z2, the quality of the screen is much better then the d3. The ipod interface although doesnt do video. I feel it is better than the d3. It is jus a lil bit slower but looks 10times better. And as for the voice command u have to first push the VC button on screen and depending on what screen u r on u can control it. If you are in nav mode you can push the VC button and set your destination via address book. I havnt tried inputing a address by voice yet. you cant do much for ip
  3. there alot of shady shops out there. i am an installer at best buy... before i started working here i was doing installs with my friend. we had a friend come to us to get a bunch stuff installed. Deck, speakers, subs, amps. we would usualy go into L.A. and get stuff for cheap from the wholesalers. But our friend thought all that was too much money. he was gonna get good quality stuff for cheap. so he went to a shop and got crap quality for even cheaper and he got an alarm. about a week later while at school (H.S) his car got jacked. all the audio stuff stripped and the car was found in
  4. i had that problem with my old n1.. I opened it up to do the solder bypass and when i put it back together it wouldn't work. it would flash for a second and then nothing. when i opened it back up i noticed that one of the ribbons for the screen came loose. after that, everything worked great. you just have to be very careful to make sure the ribbons dont move when u are putting it back together. now i have upgraded to the z2 love it
  5. this is a usual issue. It is usully cause by your amp turn one wire. Most oem amps are not 12volt turn on. so when u hook up a 12v turn on u get a pop. all u have to do is get two ressistors a believe somwhere around 2.5k-3.5k and solder or crimp one end of both to the radio side of the amp turn on. then the amp side of the turn on gets connected to one of them. The other gets grounded. this will split the voltage evenly. make sure u tape or shrink tube the resistors so they dont ground out each other and/or break
  6. your gonna need two resisters. one goes in line with the remote amp turn on and the other gets grounded. You connect both resisters to the radio side of the remote turn on wire. Then connect one resister to the amp side of the wire. the other will be grounded. I have had this problem with mustangs and the mach and shakers systems
  7. if you have the n1 you can use the ipod interface cd-Ib100UII, but you wont have control from the ipod. You will only be able to use track forward and back from the n1. And it will only show IPOD001..IPOD002...IPOD003 and so on. jus get the p-bus to rca and use the mini jack connecter. If you want it to charge the ipod, Best buy sells a piece that will plug into the p-bus and give you the ipod plug, you just have to hook up power and ground. The peice is about $40... That is want i did
