  1. Just had an 8100NEX installed. I love it so far. I attempted to play a .mkv video file from an SD card. The video looked great, even at 1080p, however the 8100NEX unit said that the file did not contain an audio file. When I play the same file on any of my computers (mac) via VLC, the file appears to be flawless and of course has sound. What type of video file should I be using to play from an SD card? What type of Audio file is needed so that the 8100NEX will recognize it at play properly? Thanks in advance!
  2. I'm a proud owner of a 8100 nex, my question is Is there a password screen on this model?
  3. Hello all, Apologies to the forum for busting in here with my first post asking a favor without the ability to offer help to the community. I have searched FSM's on NICO and ClubFrontier, but I'm still unclear about this confounding VSS wire. So, there's a light blue wire in the OE stereo harness. Some say I can wire to that, while others say unless I had the speed sensitive volume control (like on the Rockford Fosgate system) that's the wrong wire. . Others state I have to look for a light blue wire on the instrument cluster plug. Also, am I splicing into it (piggy backing wi
  4. I had my HU installed and I've run into two problems. My aux in 1/8" jack has stopped working altogether and my USB for my android auto is flaky at best. I would like to replace both of them (put the old USB in USB1 at least). What cables would you get and what length? They are running to my center console, so I use the entire length. I have no idea why my mini-jack just stopped working one day. Frustrating. Thanks for any input!
  5. After many months of using my SiriusXM radio on my 8100nex, all the sudden there is no audio at all. All other sources work fine EXCEPT SiriusXM. The display is showing all the songs/titles/artwork. Just NO sound at all. I have tried reseting/restoring the 8100nex, reflashing the latest firmware (1.03) and even cutting power to my car batter to reset. NOTHING has worked to get my sound back on SiriusXM. I heard other Pioneer HUs have had the same problem in the past and it was fixed with a firmware update with those models, but there is no newer firmware than the current 1.03.
  6. Just got the 8100NEX this week and for the most part I'm loving it. Compared to the Kenwood unit it's replacing, the stock features are just miles above, even if the looks/controls are a little weird. Also taking a while to get used to the capacitive screen. iPod control is GREAT. Clicking on artist, album, and genre open up easy "related" searches. I love that if you choose a genre, you have the option to see all the albums in said genre. A-Z search is easy. It's very responsive (for reference, I use a 7G Classic, with a 240GB hard drive installed, 60GB left). And you don't need a special
