Hi guys, Does anyone know how to get Carplay working for AVICF60BT (India)? There is no firmware update available on Pioneer's official website. AVICF60DAB which has identical hardware already has Carplay available, but it's not available for AVICF60BT. Any help is appreciated.

Newbie to Pioneer NAV. I just installed a NEX5000 into the wife's Handicap accessible minivan. Replaced the factory radio and the external Garmin. (We've had Garmin's since 06) Best Buy sold me on the Car Play instead of using a Kenwood like I have in all my other vehicles. Anyway, years and years ago I installed Pioneers and I got this one installed and it looks great. The Car Play took a little setup since out of the box the HU was on 1.03 and I had to dig around and realize that I had to upgrade to 1.08. Once I did that I got the Car Play to work. Up to today, Apple has only whitelisted apps by big developers for CarPlay, suggesting Apple may start welcoming a wider base of partners, such as other ‘indie’ podcast clients. That being said, Overcast is currently not featured on Apple’s CarPlay microsite. Overcast 1.1 is available for free on the App Store, with an optional in-app purchase to unlock all functionality.

I am having Avic 5000 Nex with Iphone 6 running IOS 8.1. The daytime Apple maps displayed in car play unit looks washed out. The 3d rendered buildings are not clear where as in the night time the map looks fantastic with perfectly rendered buildings. Any one is having similar problem. I think the problem is with Nex 5000 display.

I am having Avic 5000 nex with Iphone 5s running IOS 8.1. In Carplay all the album art displayed for Music related applications is very hard to see in the background. This issue started happening after upgrading to IOS 8.1. Any one experiencing similar kind of issue?

I'm sure a lot of you have run into it... the messaging bug where Siri seem to read the last message you sent to someone, instead of reading the most recent message they sent to you. It can sometimes make any attempt at a hands-free conversation pointless. It's NOT a language thing. I tried having her read messages to me in a variety of ways... "read texts" -- "read unread messages" -- "read unread text from so-and-so"... etc. NOTHING solves it except this cancel button thing I'll describe below. I do have firmware 1.08. Its so annoying that Apple and pioneer can't get together and make it so you can do everything on one connection. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Currently, you have to connect via the thunderbolt and HDMI adapter to get iPhone mirroring and stream video from your phone to the 8000nex. CBut wile your connected with the adapter, CarPlay doesn't work.. Has anyone come up with a way to do both either thru the adapter or direct connection thru thunderbolt?? My thunderbolt/hdmi adapter is intermittent thanks to the stress of moving the phone around while its connected.. must be a be

I picked up a used iPhone 5 over the weekend to use for CarPlay in my AVH-4000NEX stereo. I leave it connected via USB cable to port 1 in the radio. Every time I start my car, The Pioneer start screen launches, then CarPlay takes over - I have to hit the ok button on the disclaimer, then NEX, then whatever is currently running on the right, in order to get to the NEX interface. This is pretty annoying... Is there a way to set the radio to NOT launch CarPlay every time I start my car?

During the upgrade to the 1.06 firmware I got a error message that basically says press the home button and wait for HU to auto recover. The HU never auto recover and tries to install firmware again but now it says upgrading from 0.00 to 0.00. Regardless if I try to go thru the USB or the SD card it just fails and the whole process starts over after I hit the home buttons. I tried anything the manual says about reseting to factory and I get the unit out of this loop! Any advice or help on how to at least get it to recover by to Factory default? I thought maybe I could try install the 1.02

I've got an 8000 and installed the firmware update with no problems. Everything seemed to work just fine until I used turn by turn guidance in Maps. The voice prompt is LOUD and I mean LOUD like the speakers might blow. At first I thought this was just me having the setting in the Maps app on the phone set to high. However, the setting was set to low. I decided to change the settings and retry and none of them seem to have any effect. No matter what I do, I can't get the guidance voice to a "normal" volume. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi All, Thanks to everyone who was able to host the firmware updates over the last day or two... was a big help. I wanted to bring up an issue I noticed with my 4000nex (updated to 1.06) Most of the carplay apps seem to function as intended except for Music. I am able to hear audio when playing genius mixes but NOT when selecting a stations in iTunes Radio. It appears as if the head unit 'thinks' it IS playing something but no audio ever comes through. I tried this while the phone was on wifi as well as LTE and 4G but haven't had any luck. Could i have an option set incorrectly some whe

For those with the 8000 who have updated to CarPlay, are you able to pinch-to-zoom with Apple Maps? If so, how smooth is it? More generally, how responsive and smooth is it when scrolling through the various CarPlay screens?

The guy at Pioneer was a complete prick, but I did report that the audio/video resume on USB is broken and does not work. This is very annoying, and makes a large thumbdrive almost usless... Please post any other bugs here, so we can at least point these things out to Pioneer... I also learned that you can not revert back to 1.05 firmware.... Detailed explanation: When inserting a thumbrive on 1.05, it will read format, and then you can navigate to a folder, say a long audiobook, and start playing... Say you get to chapter 3, you turn off the car, and when you turn the car back

So I just installed carplay on my 4000-next this morning. SWC controls work only for volume up and down while in carplay, previous and next does not work. Mode looks like it switches background audio input so I can get radio running in the background of carplay? Anyone else having similar issues? Next and Previous work correctly outside of carplay.

I've read that Alpine plans on having CarPlay-ready head units available later this year with a price range of $500 - $700. While I know full well that those are wild guestimates, I'm really on the fence about and may consider waiting for two primary reasons: 1) I've been in the electronics development biz long enough to know that the "first-to-market" is often times not the best. As a fairly new owner of an 8000NEX, I wanted to share my first impressions of the AppRadio Live app. Overall, I like the look and function of the app. The interface is clean and it's fairly easy to navigate. It seems a bit limited right now, and I wish the other AppRadio apps and main Radio functions could be accessed directly from this new space.
