  1. I have a Pioneer DMH-4660NEX car radio. I'm trying to get the HDMI source working with my iPhone. I've followed your videos and have just done the video bypass successfully. However, when I connect my iPhone to the HDMI source, it just shows a dark screen with some static. Could it be a bad cable (it's a new one), interference, other? The adapter is a genuine Apple part. Are there any recommended Micro HDMI to HDMI cables folks use with good success? Firmware version: 3.0 Video bypass: enabled (Set On) I also have a Maestro RR connected in my Ram 1500 truck. Thanks very much f
  2. Hey all, I have a dmh-wt7600nex , HDMI won't work on my unit even when I have the parking brake on, it's grayed out. I tried the bypass method in the Source OFF menu like 20 or so times but no luck. I attached a video to see if maybe I'm doing something wrong. I've tried with a stopwatch, counting in my head but no luck. I'm on the newest 1.3 software I dunno if that might be an issue... IMG_9191.MOV
  3. This is the service manual for the AVIC-Z150BH & AVIC-F50BT units. (Link at bottom of post.) Request for Help If you're interested in helping, please let me know. Also, if you've already done the modifications listed below for other models, and can share insight, that would also be appreciated. This should work for the 1) AVIC-Z150BH, 2) AVIC-X950BH, 3) AVIC-X850BT*, and 4) AVIC-X8510BT* units -- and the respective European equivalents. Modification Goals I want to do the following items: 0) Map updates (Done Sep. 17, 2016) -- method works the same for 2018 maps and
  4. I purchased a Mi Box 3 - Android TV to use on the HDMI source of my 4200NEX. Actually, I've purchased 2 of them after the first one no longer worked while being connected to the 4200nex. Out of the box both Mi Box 3 devices connected through the HDMI source and worked fine. They also both work connected to an LG TV and also work when connected to a Magnasonic Mini projector. After the initial use with each Mi Box, turning the car off, changing sources, etc. caused no problems. Leaving the device connected over night ended with both units showing no device for the HDMI source on th
  5. Hey folks, I just picked up an 8200NEX to be installed by the local shop later this week, but I have some questions so that I can be prepared going in. I understand the unit comes with a single USB extension cable. Presumably this will connect to the USB1 input on the back for Apple CarPlay. Questions: Assuming I have no intention of connecting an android phone, can I still make use of the second USB input? What benefit might this serve me? E.g., could I use this to charge a second device? What happens if I have two devices connected at the same time (say an iPhone to USB1 and an
  6. Hey all - I recently installed a 4000NEX into my 2013 VW Golf and have, at this point, only installed the USB cable in order to utilize Carplay. I'm interested in adding the HDMI cable in order to enable the Appradio and Mixtrax functionality and I have 2 questions regarding this: 1) Adding the HDMI cable using the Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter - does this impact the Carplay functionality at all? and, more importantly 2) Does anyone know of a way to connect the male end of a lightning cable to the male end of a USB cable? The setup in my car is a USB port that I insta
  7. Hi, Can anyone share with me their Tasker profile or settings for use with ARUnchained and an HDMI dongle or Chromecast? FYI, I have a Samsung S5 and an AVIC-8000NEX unit. Thanks
  8. I currently have the 8100NEX. I wanted to know if anyone has tried to streaming Chromecast via the HDMI port and using one of the USB ports?
  9. Hey guys, First post here and I've got to admit I'm just a consumer of these products. I have them installed by a "professional" so I'm a little ignorant. I'm having trouble with AppRadio mode on my AVH4000NEX, I have a HDMI cord attached to the back of the unit, then a lightning cord from usb2 both connecting to an Apple AV adapter, then into my iPhone 6 IOS 8.1.2 (jailbroken? Does it matter?). I have connected my iPhone to the deck with Bluetooth but still, I never have an option for AppRadio, I can only view the iPhone screen under "HDMI" which isn't terrible. But it wasn't the Ap
  10. just got my AR3 along with some third party cables since I don't plan on using the CD-IH202 iphone5 kit. problem already, tho -- the $5 "AmazonBasics" 2-meter hdmi cable (http://tinyurl.com/3dj6sdh) doesn't fit the head unit port! the cable's end header is too fat, impossible to insert the cable into the deeply recessed AR3 port. dah!! which ones are you folks using? the one included in the CD-IH202 is an "automotive grade" cable, which has two features 1) designed for temperatures and vibrations found in a vehicle, 2) header designed for clips to prevent dislodging (AR3 comes with one of th
