I know this has been asked, but I have yet to find a clear answer. On the NEX series, there are two screens, the 'splash screen' for 1-2 seconds followed by a 'loading screen' for 3-5 seconds. Pioneer touts the ability to change the splash screen...but who cares when it's barely visible and immediately changes to their own loading screen. I previously owned an F90BT and was able to actually replace that loading screen, which was considered the splash screen. Hi Gurus of all things NEX I recently brought my wife a 5100NEX for her 2011 Nissan Altima (BIG IM SORRY PRESENT). Anyhow, I have an iPhone 6, and when I plugged in my 6 to her deck to make sure everything was working good, I had 0 problems. So after I showed her the car, and the radio she plugged in her 5s and we took off for a trip down to wine country. Well, about 10 minutes into the drive, the 5100 stopped responding in Car Play mode. The CD still worked, the Radio still worked, bluetooth with the 5s was flawless, but we couldn't get CarPlay to work... I have no idea what's g

I know that the 3.5mm jack in the rear is really an AV minijack; however, has anyone here ever used a standard audio mini-jack in the rear and use the AUX source as an audio-only AUX-in? The part that Pioneer recommends in the owner's manual for the AVIC NEX units (CD-RM10) doesn't even seem to be even sold by Pioneer anymore.

Hello Everybody, Two weeks ago I bought the European equivalent of the NEX-6000, the AVIC-F960DAB. The HU is really good, sound quality is great and love all the features it has in theory. In practice not all of the features are implemented as good as it should have been. I've written to Pioneer about these issues and thought I should share the experience with you guys. Maybe if more of us open a complaint on Pioneer Support we can get these things sorted out. Hi Folks, Not sure if anyone else has had some goofiness and hopefully Apple and Pioneer will make nice and work closer together to resolve things. But here is my experience, strength and hope so far... First off I really like the CarPlay features and I think it has made me a much safer driver. I really like how the 15 second advance/rewind works for the Podcast app since that is what I am often listening to while driving. Much safer with the big buttons to skip commercials. I am pretty handy and the install of the unit was easy. Total cost was just at $500 US with Amazon. Comp

Hi All, I have an iPhone 6 plugged into my NEX-4000 and if I try to browse any app on the iPhone 6 while plugged in the deck stops all audio. Has anyone else seen this?

Do I really have to package up my system and ship it to pioneer? I called them today and they said it will cost roughly $100 plus shipping just to bypass this password! Not to mention it will take between 1-2 weeks to get my radio back. There has to be an alternative, local programming shops? Anyone else run into this problem?

So I think I'm missing something here.. Searched the.... Outta the forum and well I'm trying to get my front camera working... I have a feeling it's in the settings em selves but......??? Rear cam is wired to reverse lights.. Works like a charm and can access anytime.. Front camera is wired like back.. Power to ignition and ground to ground. Video is plugged into extra video input... When I try to access it I get the attention viewing of front seat video blah blah.. But the display will not come through at all! What am I missing? Is this not the aux input or????? I just had my 8000 NEX installed yesterday into my 2011 BMW 335d. When the car is off, selecting reverse turns the camera on exactly as has happened in all of the AVIC units that I installed into my 2010 Jetta TDI Cup Edition. Once the vehicle has started, it will engage the camera the first time I put it in reverse, but never again until I shut the whole car down and turn it on while in ACC mode. The voltage is just under 12v when the vehicle is off (and the camera activates as it should), but when the car is on, the voltage goes to 12.6v and the head unit seems to pretend that the trigger do -
I currently have a U310BT in my car and just purchased the NEX5000. Will I be able to basically just swap the 310 for the NEX5000 during the install? Will the main power/harness plug on the 310 plug right into the NEX? Thanks!

I haven't seen this posted in the two weeks or so that Firmware 1.06 / CarPlay has been out, so I thought that I'd share. On the two prior Pioneer head units that I've had, as well as the 8000NEX before the Firmware 1.06 update, you would hear a loud and distinct "BEEP BEEP" when the Escort Live app received an alert and the source on the Pioneer head unit was set to iPod/USB. You wouldn't hear the "BEEP BEEP" if the head unit was set to a different source like Sirius XM or Pandora; but that was okay because you could still receive an audible alert from the radar detector. During the upgrade to the 1.06 firmware I got a error message that basically says press the home button and wait for HU to auto recover. The HU never auto recover and tries to install firmware again but now it says upgrading from 0.00 to 0.00. Regardless if I try to go thru the USB or the SD card it just fails and the whole process starts over after I hit the home buttons. I tried anything the manual says about reseting to factory and I get the unit out of this loop! Any advice or help on how to at least get it to recover by to Factory default? I thought maybe I could try install the 1.02

The guy at Pioneer was a complete prick, but I did report that the audio/video resume on USB is broken and does not work. This is very annoying, and makes a large thumbdrive almost usless... Please post any other bugs here, so we can at least point these things out to Pioneer... I also learned that you can not revert back to 1.05 firmware.... Detailed explanation: When inserting a thumbrive on 1.05, it will read format, and then you can navigate to a folder, say a long audiobook, and start playing... Say you get to chapter 3, you turn off the car, and when you turn the car back

I have the 4000NEX in my 2012 Lexus CT200H. Very impressive unit, except for the background noise during phone calls. The 4000 microphone sensitivity seems quite high, and even when driving on "quiet" roads people on the other end of the phone say the call is quite noisy ... to the point where I have to switch to my iPhone 5s with earbuds in order to have a chat with someone. Anyone else experiencing similar issues or have advise? In trying to troubleshoot the problem, I have relocated the microphone from the windshield to below the steering wheel. Hi. I'm considering either a 4000 or 8000 to add to my 2004 Honda CRV. The CRV does not have have steering wheel controls built in. So I may need to add them. But... How useful are steering wheel controls with a NEX receiver? Must have? Nice to have? Not really necessary? What is your opinion. Thanks, Dan. p.s. As time goes on, I'm noticing that both the album art and channel icons aren't properly represented for certain stations. I certainly haven't checked all stations; and it doesn't even happen with all of my presets. But for some stations, it does happen consistently. You can see the station's number indicated on the bottom. Titles for station, artist, and song are also always correct. (In fact, tags still work). I snapped a few photos with my iPhone to show you what I mean. One photo shows Station 312 (Tom Petty's Buried Treasure) but the station icon for '90's on 9 is present as well

AppRadio3 NOT WORKING with Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.2.2! Hi, I just got the Avic8000NEX installed last week. I have tried two different HDMI cables and three adapters now have bought the Samsung adapter (recommended), still says connecting, please activated pioneer device on touchscreen. Everything else works fine. Can anyone please help me? Called Pioneer and they said I bought it from unauthorized dealer so screw me. Is there some special difference between HDMI cables that I don't know about? Does it need to be HDMI1.3 1.4 or 2.0? Has anyone got theirs working on a standard HDMI
