  1. Hello Forum! I have an AVIC 8000NEX with firmware 1.15(i think, not 100%) and I've been stuck in a boot loop on the loading screen for a couple days... I used the reset button to no avail and I tried to use NORflashbackup but that didn't work. Now I'm trying to find a copy of Testkey_A so that I can see if I can recover anything... I'm pretty sure the California Heat killed my internal SD card. I have a bunch lying around but don't really want to open this box and explore as I do not have $$$ to purchase another unit, lol. I've tried joining the chat but I get an application error on
  2. I use handbrake to convert movies and videos for use on my AVIC-8000NEX. A problem that I'm running into is the the Pioneer stretches the video vertically, removing the black bars on the top and bottom of the video. When I watch the same file on my computer, phone or tablet, the black bars are there, on the Pioneer, the're not. Is there a conversion program or setting in handbrake to add the top and bottom bars as part of the video so the Pioneer doesn't ignore them and stretch the video?
  3. I need to figure out how to get European maps on the 8000NEX. I successfully installed the unit thinking it would be a matter of just paying for/downloading the maps and loading them. Boy was I surprised to find out that you can't just do that. I live in Europe for the time being and would hate to have wasted all the money on this unit if I can't use the nav.. Please help!!!!
  4. Hello everyone... I just stumbled upon this forum and I'm hoping that someone here can help me troubleshoot a problem I'm having. I installed my AVIC-8000NEX in my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee replacing factory nav. I used the idatalink and all the harnesses & stuff Crutchfield included in my kit for my Jeep. The problem I'm stuck on: I can play music from my phone, listen to AM/FM radio perfectly but whenever the navigation voice should play, it dims the music but there is no voice. The same with speaker phone, the regular music is turned off and the person on the other end can hear m
  5. Hi all, looking at installing the 8000NEX in a 2012 Grand Cherokee with backup camera already installed. Question: Will I be able to retain the existing OEM camera or will I need to replace it? Thanks in advance for any help!
  6. Just finished my install of an AVIC-8000NEX unit. Anyone know how to change the splash screens to my own pictures? I tried the simple thing, put JPG's on an SD card, but they came up with a circle and a line through them. Must not be the right format.
  7. Is there anyone out there using a Galaxy Note edge on their NEX unit? If so did you have to root your phone? I am currently using the 8000nex with a galaxy s5. Both are running kitkat but I am unsure if there will be any hardware issues. I do not want to drop money into the Note Edge if it is not going to work. Thanks
  8. Okay guys, here is my situation. I would love some suggestions if you have any on how to make this work. I just ordered my 8000NEX, it will be replacing my Z2 with hard drive and Z3 software update.<-- ($For sale$) In my truck connected to the Z2 I have the following: -Sprint 4g Internet Hotspot (to provide dedicated internet and streaming media for passengers when traveling on trips) -Hardwired (power only) Apple Airport Extreme router -Hardwired (power only) Apple TV with HDMI to RCA conversion unit to AV input. -Backup Camera connected to Rear Camera input. -Will have the HD
  9. For those that haven't read my previous posts, I am a very happy owner of an 8000NEX in my Audi TT. Well, my wife borrowed my car for a Saturday afternoon with her friends, and became insanely jealous! Now she wants a NEX in her 2010 Hyundai Tucson. Back in 2011 or 2012 (can't remember), we had put in an AVIC-Z130BT (it was the last model that featured voice commands). Since this is a Hyundai and not a BMW or a Benz, and we've already spent good $$$ putting in a radio before, we decided NOT to go all-out for the 8000, but to just put in a 7000 instead. The only differences are th
  10. I am running an 8000nex and an iPhone 5. I am experience sporadic BlueTooth connectivity issues, b/c it is auto pairing when I start the truck, but then in the middle of streaming music, my iPhone will stop streaming, and a warning message come up saying this accessory is not supported. I then have to go into settings and re-connect manually to my 8000nex BlueTooth. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I have already reset network settings, and executed "forget this device" on my iPhone, as well as deleted my phone from my 8000nex BT devices. Any other solutions are welcome a
