  1. People. Today we try to recycle and bargain (the economy is crazy). I'd like to buy a AppRadio 2 or 3, insteado of waiting for the new 5 generation, on buying a 4. The main differences between those units are: - App3 can change wallpaper; - App3 can mainstream music through bluetooth. Is that it? Just that? And also: - Can I use a App3 firmware, and turn the a App2 headunit, into a App3? (the "hardware" on the App2 has the required specs for so?) Thanks for anyone that can help. Best regards.
  2. Just did a quick test after installing iOS 8 on iPhone 5
  3. AppRadio3 NOT WORKING with Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.2.2! Hi, I just got the Avic8000NEX installed last week. I have tried two different HDMI cables and three adapters now have bought the Samsung adapter (recommended), still says connecting, please activated pioneer device on touchscreen. Everything else works fine. Can anyone please help me? Called Pioneer and they said I bought it from unauthorized dealer so screw me. Is there some special difference between HDMI cables that I don't know about? Does it need to be HDMI1.3 1.4 or 2.0? Has anyone got theirs working on a standard HDMI
  4. Hi all, I have been a looooonngggg time reader of the nearly 200 page thread about AppRadio and I recently "made the plunge" into the AppRadio scene. I have installed the system but now need your help to get what I believe to be the "perfect setup." My setup: iPhone 5 on ios 6.1.4 Appradio app v1.8.2 (Found cracked version on the forum- I think I really need v2.5 as I have heard/read this is the most stable version for my setup [no black screen upon unsupported app exit etc.] Appradio Extensions 2.0.1-450 from Cydia Repo (Possibly a specific "beta" would be better for my setup?) Apprad
  5. I'm new to the AppRadio and I have been searching all morning trying to figure out what the pros and cons are to the AppRadio vs a AVH / AVIC unit with App Mode. Crutchfield has the AppRadio 3 w/ DVD and the AVH-X5500BHS for the same price. You seem to get so much more out of the AVH model, but why? Am i missing something? What is the real difference between a dedicated AppRadio vs an AVH model with AppMode? Are there features that may not work as well? As for Navigation, if the AppRadio uses the Apple Maps app, or other navigation app, what makes an AVIC unit better? I just t
  6. Hi, apologies if this is a newbie question, but I'm wondering if the UK version of the AppRadio 3 is compatible with Australian FM frequencies? I understand FM channel frequencies are 100kHz apart in the USA while the separation between channels in both the UK and Australia is only 50kHz. As such, I assume that means if I buy an AppRadio 3 in the UK while on a trip in May, I should then be ok to bring it back to Australia with me and have pretty much all features work correctly on this side of the planet? For some reason Pioneer Australia isn't making the AppRadio 3 available her
  7. I am really curious about this. Mine is installed and partially working. I have power, radio works fine, blue tooth pairs almost immediately, the USB/30-pin cable _seems_ to be charging my phone, but the App Icon is greyed out and not functioning so I have no GPS even though all the proper Apps are installed on my iPhone4. Tomorrow I will pull the radio and get rid of the Micro ByPass to see if that is causing the "communication" problem. I talked to a local installer today and he said that some Pioneer units are sensitive to the brake bypass and may not allow you to get to all menu opt
  8. Just a quick video showing iOS7 with iPhone 5 working with my appradio 3
  9. I'm doing an install of an Appradio 3 in my 2003 Ford Expedition and I need a recommendation for a backup camera. I know there are some cheap solutions on EBay that work, but I'm not sure which one to get.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVb85B38QRA I just got my bypass installed and some kinks worked out. Everything seems to work really well with App Extensions and Appradio 3. I haven't seen many videos mirroring the iPhone 5 with the 3 so I thought I'd post it.
