PawelP
Please help. My AVIC-D1 touch screen seems to dis-calibrate itself and now there is very poor pointing accuracy. The center of the screen reacts properly, but the sides of the screen is off towards the edges. I need to touch the area outside the point I want to activate. The points close to the edge are not accessible. This failure appeared few month after the warranty went out. Please advise what can I do with this unit. Maybe someone can provide with the calibration routine I can run on my AVIC-D1 to calibrate the screen. Thanks in advance Pawel

PawelP
http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1283&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=calibration Read this. I did that, it worked for the first time! thank you so much. I have been trying to contact Pioneer for half a year now about that issue and it took exactly 5mins. to fix it with the self-calibration. I read Pioneer will charge $200 for that plus all the hassle with removing of the unit from the dash etc. They should give this routine in the user manual. Anyways, thanks a lot for this wonderful help, it is great! Just to reapeat what was already written in the link kindly given to me: "- hit eject & reset at the same time - release 'reset' - screen went in & came back out - screen said "press reset" or something to that effect - i used the joystick - up, up, down, down, [and then pushed in the joystick to 'enter'] - goes into the service menu - select top option for touch screen - in touch screen menu, select 1st [top] item with * next to it - using your fingernail, trace the edges of the screen, and the X,Y values will change to reflect the tracing (I did this a few times to make sure it read my finger well) - hit the "BAND" button [acts as 'back'] - select the second option down - select the cross on the screen each time it appears - it will do a column on the right, middle, left, then one final offset just right of the left column - then it should say 'ok' or something like that - I then selected a menu option (sorry I don't specifically remember the title) with 'Confirm calibration' or something like that in the title - apparently this saved the new settings - I then removed the faceplate to shut down the unit and put it back on - it went through a few startup sequences and then, after resetting some basics, the unit worked fine (I did it another time where I turned off the engine instread of removing the faceplate) " cheers Pawel

I tried it for an hour today, and I can not for the life of me get into the Service Menu. I open the screen on my D1, the press Reset and Eject at the same time, then let go of the reset buttion while still holding eject? What am I doing wrong. It does nothing. Resets, stays blank until I get of of eject. Help!!! My calbriation is off, and its driving me nuts!
