HandsIncFightGear
I'm planning on buying an AVIC-D3 this week and getting the Sirius set-up too. From quickly browsing some of the threads I've noticed people complaining about the display of the Sirius on the AVIC. In my last car I had an external Sirius radio next to my head unit and I was very happy with it. I thought it was great, easy to use, looked good, and display was great. So do you miss out on some of those things when using the AVIC to listen to Sirius? I will get the Sirius set-up with the AVIC anyways because I love Howard Stern. I was just wondering what to expect out of it.
whtcrxghst
First, your presets will just say preset 1-6, you cannot name them. Also, you only get one line of text at a time. So you have to choose, do you want to see the song name, OR artist name, OR etc. To see something different, you have to hit the DISP button on the touchscreen. There are photos of the display in the D series section somewhere
99 rs
You will lose most of your display functionality like has been said above. The D3 interface is world's better then the other D series units though. At least you get a memo button.
