xsdbs
has anyone here fiqured out how to make the factory monitor for '03 -06 chevty tahoes/ suburbans work ( power up) when the radio is replaced. those monitors take a data signal to turn on and I had thought about just hiding the factory radio and run power and data wires from the factory harnes. I just don't know if the data signal from the bcm would have a conflict by having the factory radio and an interface mod both on the data line. TIA for any input here. cntrylvr79
Relocating the stock radio is the only way to go. Though some of the gm overheads will still work with the stock deck removed. The ones I've seen do that will only have 1 button on either side of the dvd player in the overhead. Play/pause on the left and stop/eject on the right.
xsdbs
thanks for the help, I thought that I would need to relocate the radio (PAIN in the neck). I'll have to look at the dvd player buttons and maybe even pull the radio out and then try the video system before relocating,
cntrylvr79
1 more tidbit for, if the overhead works without the radio, the only problem you'll run into is that you won't be able to get sound out of he overhead. Well the ir headphones will still work at least.
