dawgbone
There is a couple of bitmaps that you can either delete or rename...You'll need to unlock your HDD as described in the HDD threads at the top of this forum...
Passat 05
......but i still see the Pionner logo on top and it cuts off some of my image. anyway of taking that off? Yes, you would need to have your HDD unlocked but that costs almost as much as a new HDD. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3568 The new HDD would be, let's say, 60gig (Toshiba!) and then give you the extra gig for music storage. You'd have to put the Z2 image on that new drive, and while you're doing that you can remove or replace the existing splash screen and banner screen. This way you leave your original Z2 HDD locked and don't take a chance on messing it up. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9446

BigFloppy
It's easy mate.... 1. Make sure if you put a CD in your drive, it boots to the CD 2. Looking at your motherboard, OK, too difficult to explain without being on the phone (and you being in front of your machine) PM me, I'll walk you thru it

Looking at your motherboard, OK, too difficult to explain ,,, "2. Looking at your MOTHERBOARD ???" Would that be the Avic motherboard or the Laptop motherboard I thought step '2' was replacing the fuel injectors with a carburetor?

Z1 newbie
I thought step '2' was replacing the fuel injectors with a carburetor? I missed most important step (step 1).. Goto refrigerator and grab a cold one GOT IT!!! 3. Dump cold one down carburetor. .....Right? Or do you dump the cold one directly over the Avic? ....I can see how that would erase the splash screen. If it's high-test don't waste it on the car ( I prefer a Belgian import called Gulden Drak ) If it's But-Wiper, just throw it down the can, not even worth keeping cold... theGster
i succesfully changed my splash screen as this title says, but i can't change my NAV/AV backround image. i did the same procedure, but add more pics in to the "PICTURES" folder. when i go and change the "import from disc" is blacked out, however the splash screen is not blacked out. i don't get it.
