zilverz
Hey, I have a Z with stock nav already, so I dont really need the nav function. I was looking at the 4000 and it seems to be the same as the d3, minus nav. Is this true? How do they compare, quality/interface wise?
whtcrxghst
Only major differences: 4000 has no nav; D3 does 4000 has USB; D3 was external control & required purchasing the adaptor 4000 has 2 4-volt preouts; D3 has 3 2-volt preouts
zilverz
So If I dont want to waste money on Nav, there is no point in the avic? No other features I would be missing out on? I heard the avic interface is way better. Is there any other HU I should look at?
Ranger
You should try both in a store if you can...The D3 had the best interface of any of the other navs I tried out.
zilverz
Yeah, I cant find the 4000 in any store though, which is why im asking so any input is much appreciated!

Karch
I put a D3 in my Trailblazer SS 2 months ago, and my wife wants the same interface for her iPod, w/o NAV, so I just bought a 4000. I can let you know in a couple of days, as I am planning on installing it this weekend, with bluetooth.
offroaderf150
the d3 and p4000 are up on display at my work (bestbuy) and the p4000 is very similar, but the interface isnt as "smooth" looking or "clean", whatever you wanna call it. the basic functions are very similar with the exception of the nav. the 4000 is a nice unit though. i like it.
