Archangel
I have followed the instructions in the sticky about how to change background images. However, my disc (version 1) does not have the files POISR201.IDX through POISR207.IDX. The image is too large to burn back to a single layer DVD without removing some files. Does anyone have suggestions on what to delete? I tried removing some of the POISR files with lower numbers, but D1 didn't like the disc.
Guest justiz
Try removing enough POI files until it will fit on a single layer disc. I removed all of the POI files, put in my background image, burned it to a +RW, got the image on my N2, took the disc out and used it for something else.
Archangel
Thanks, I will try that. Any idea what POI files do? Did you remove the POISR or POIDT files? Oh, and it is just a straight data disk burn to the DVD for the ISO file right?
Guest justiz
From what i understand, the POI files are for Points Of Interest. I deleted every file inside of the IDX folder that started with POI. I think there were like 7-8 of them. I had a .mdf/.mds file, but if you have a .iso you should be able to just burn the image from nero. Close the wizard that pops up when you open Nero burning ROM, then go to Recorder - Burn Image, and select your .iso file.
Guest AdamHicks
Sure it'll burn then, but the next time you go to do a POI search it'll just dump you right back to the map! I'm headed out to by a few DVD-R DL's for this purpose. I don't mind spending a couple bucks on the (overpriced) dual layer discs if it'll give me full functionality AND allow me to hack in my images! Adam
justiz
Thats why you only use the RW discs for uploading the boot images. Once that is done you can go back to using your regular nav disc and keep your custom boot screen. Worked for me perfectly.
