VIDEO REVIEW OF AVIC-F90BT

Recommended Posts

I didnt know that aftermarket companies lock out items when driving also, such as video when driving. Jason do they lock out many of the navigation functions when driving also like changing a route etc? My GM nav locks most all navigation mods while driving. I find that annoying if you want to make a change to a destination etc when stopped at a light.

I am assuming there are voice commands for the bluetooth phone options? Such as call John Smith or something of that nature.

I thought there was a usb connection on the front of the unit to actually copy music/video directly to the units hard drive?

How are the points of interest catagory searches? Can you have it show you the closest japanese or mexican restaraunts? Or shopping, and show electronics stores like Best Buy etc?

a question about the bluetooth phone function.

does it send tones when you call a company with an autovoice switchboard?

like press 1 to talk with sales, press 2 to talk with customer service, press 0 to talk with the reception?

Thanks for the video Jason.

Can you outline how the mute settings are setup in the AV settings menu? I'm curious what variations are available for muting the music when receiving nav instructions and phone calls.

Will the gas stations and landmarks such as fast food stops, quickemarts appear on the 700BT or is this an MSN direct service?

Gas stations and landmarks (in addition to hotels, stores, ATM locations, etc.) are Points Of Interest, and are included in every Pioneer navigation system. Real time updates for those, and other categories, such as current gas prices, movie times, weather, etc. are delivered by MSN Direct, and are not available on the AVIC-F700BT.

This HU is looking AWESOME. I am definitely going to get it. Is it out yet? also, if you plug a jump drive in (a USB drive) can you watch movies off it?

No, the F Series will be released sometime this month. Yes, you can play movies off of the USB drive, or from the SD card slot.

Yes, it does voice recognition for phones

There is no hard drive. The USB and SD hookups are for music/video

Question for Jason: Can you tell from the manual whether or not the Sirius interface shows two lines of text (using the SB10 and Sirius SCC1) or just one like how it does with the D3. I plan on getting the 90BT next week ASAP and would like to have Sirius but will go back to XM if the interface for Sirius is still crap. Thanks.
