GnatGoSplat
Just thought I'd throw in that I think the bypass I posted in this thread will work: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16629 If it works, you don't have to fiddle with switches. It's a permanent and automatic bypass. You could do the same with a relay, but the transistor is slicker, smaller, cheaper, no moving parts, and uses almost no power. orijin
so does that bypass work? I just got a p5000 also would like to have it installed without using a toggle switch.
GnatGoSplat
If you're talking about the bypass I posted with the transistor, it should work. It's less than $3.00 worth of parts from Radio Shack so you won't be out much if you try it and it doesn't work (but I think it will). Plus, I think you can get away with using 1k resistors in place of both so less than $2.00 worth of parts. You can also get the parts out of some junk electronics for free like I did! orijin
Oh its not the price im worried about, its more of the convience and look where you don't need to toggle some switch or have some toggle sticking out of nowhere.
GnatGoSplat
Go ahead and try it then, it worked perfectly for me!
