No sound with Sirius

Recommended Posts

I just installed a Sirius Bus Interface and universal tuner but can not hear any audio from the unit. The tuner is activated already and I am able to see channels and such, just no sound.

It should be as easy as connecting the tuner to the bus interface and the bus interface to the tuner right?

I'm stumped.

I double checked and the bus cable has the blue end going to the blue plug, etc. I can disconnect the sirius tuner and it shows disconnected on the unit but just can't get the stupid thing to play sound.

Now an interesting thing, in reading the bus interface and tuner paperwork, they do not have the F90BT listed. I have changed the AV1 from Ipod to EXT with no luck other than I lose my Ipod sound....~!

So wait.. I have the same problem. Before I start ripping the dash apart, does blue go to the black end on the deck and the blue goes to the blue side of the interface adapter?

Im going to run swap IN to OUT real quick and see if that does anything before I pull the head unit out to reverse the cable.

EDIT - That did the trick. Sirius charging me $75.00 to switch my tuner over did not, however.

Extract your money back from them ....

Dunno how.. I had to replace my deck because my old one quit. I had a brand specific Sirius tuner instead of the new one that uses interface boxes and the place I got my deck no longer sells Eclipse. I was able to get a new interface but having to pay Sirius $75.00 to switch tuners when everything was still under warranty and my subscription is not even 5 months old sucks.

I think the OP is saying he had to buy a new tuner for $75 to be compatible with the F series, not pay to have the service switched. I've switched my Sirius account around a bunch of times to different tuners and have never been charged a fee.

^ that's some bull shit right there... I mean, seriously... why do they charge $75? What does that fee represent? I mean... all they do is pull up your account on their computer and enter in the numbers from the new tuner unit and hit enter. Like 1 minute of work.

I never had to pay shit to transfer my XM service...

Wow, that is CRAZY, man. Sorry about the fee to switch tuners. For those of us commoners with month-to-month accounts, they are more than happy to switch tuners. I guess they are afraid we'll cancel service if they make it too hard to switch radios. In your case, they already have

your money, so I guess they feel free to $crew you if you ask them to do something for you.
