Nobody has yet made a post encouraging everyone with issues to call Pioneer Directly.

They have a California based navigation technical support team that is rather friendly.

I have spoken with them about my issues, and they are supposedly working on something, but I think it would be a good idea to ask everyone to do the same. The more voices we are the louder we speak as a consumer group and the more fully they will address our problems.

I work as an engineer for a rather large electronics manufacturing company, and nothing speaks louder than actual customer complaints directly to us.

The number is (800) 421-1404. The guy I spoke to is Clark, so wether we want to overwhelm one person with this info or the entire department, which is only 6 people, hammering them with these concerns is necessary.

Below are my problems:

Model: AVIC-F700BT

Devices Connected (XM, iPod, etc) : 5th Gen iPod Video Runnning FW:1.3, Verizon Razor V3C Phone

AV Source (if playing) during issue: Sources could be playing or not and issues will manifest themselves

Action that caused the issue (pressed button, search, etc):

First Issue: all iPod browsing is alphabetical, example : browse to an album or playlist, then the songs listed are now in alphabetical order and not the order authored on the playlist or album

Second Issue: When using POI, they work great if I browse to them directly, however if i use the search function an insufficent memory appears, looks very windows CE ish.

Third Issue: TTS dosent work. when I set it to the english woman that has TTS, there is no TTS, furthermore the says comma instead of point. The male voise says point properly, but has no TTS

Fourth issue: If i put a cursor on the screen the up,down, left, right navigation buttons appear on the right hand side of the screen, to get it to go away i now have to move the cursor to a different location and then hit the map button.

Fifth Issue: Bluetooth is junk. I can hear people perfectly fine, however they cant me for S%!T.

Was GPS routing? Doesn't Matter

Was BlueTooth active? Doesn't matter except concerning issue five

Please do call and continue to post responses in this thread

Or just have a little patience, they are fully aware of some issues and are trying to resolve it.

Exactly, Some issues. The more we speak up the more they will be aware of all issues. As a manufacturing firm the last thing you want to do is make several system fix's. Not only is it bad bad press, but it costs the company. So if we voice all of our issues to them NOW they will be resolved in the first and what may be the only firmware update. Don't be passive about this, we all just dropped upwards of 1G on these units. Lets take an active stance as a team and work with Pioneer to make these the best things on the market!!!

How would Pioneer resolve all these issues? Would they publish a software update we can install on our units?
Most likely, seeing as these units use flash based memory and SD & USB input. They wouldn't need to issue a physical disk or anything.

Although I wouldn't put it past them to issue BOTH a downloadable update as well as a disk for the people dumb enough to pay for one.

Would there be an issue if you bought from a seller that is not an authorized Pioneer dealer? I still have 6 days to return my unit (and pay a 15% restocking fee) so I was a wondering what I should do.

If Pioneer was to issue a fix for the existing units it shouldn't matter where you bought the unit from, as you would probably get it directly from Pioneer themselves, most likely as a download from their website. But again, there's no REAL way to be sure until when and if something is confirmed by Pioneer themselves.

Spoke to them at pioneer yesterday, as for the issue of not getting it from an authorized dealer... It dosent matter. I blatently told them I got it at a discount online and if this was going to be a problem to just register it as a gift. They were totally cool with that.

Great info! That should put my mind to ease. I knew there wasn't going to be any warranty from Pioneer but I would expect they would support their products no matter where you bought them. I mean, they must be selling their products to "unauthorized" dealers one way or another.

I didn't think of registering on their website but will do so. Hopefully they'll notify registered owners about a software update soon.
