F Series/Sirius/Lancer question

Recommended Posts

I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS with the Rockford Fosgate system and subwoofer.

I am very disappointed in my GPS unit, but I love the audio

here's what I want to do:

I want to be able to use my existing Sirius antenna (I know I need a new tuner)

I want to be able to use my existing steering wheel controls

I want to be able to use my subwoofer and Amplifier

Does the F series support Satellite radio channel logos? I saw that it supports it for XM, but does it for Sirius!?

everything about the F series is completely awesome compared to my current GPS, GUI, Customization, (easy bypass) easier to use, more control, better navigation, (mine gets me lost nearly all the time I use it, the destinations are off by many miles and I tired calibrating it and never fixed it, I even spent $150 to update the map and nothing was fixed...)

Update: I just read some articles that the F series can use an iPod using the Sync cable to play video without a special cable, however in order to play video you need the pioneer cable. (I don't need video though)

anyways, does anyone know if this USB port will work with any device that uses USB, such as Zune, or any other MP3 player?!?

can anyone elaborate on this for me?

I to have a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS with the Rockford Fosgate system and subwoofer. Great choice!

The factory amp to the Fosgate system sits under the drivers seat and only turns on from the CAN-BUS connection from the head unit. Most people on EvolutionM forum are using after market amps because they cant make it work yet.

You have two options at this point if you want to use the factory amp, sub, etc.

1) use this Rockford Amp Turn on Interface found by "thuan†on evolutionM.net site. I don't think its out yet and costs $150. Here's his link:

2) I know you have a factory nav like me and most likely not want to screw it up. I sagest you buy the factory base CD player for our car of Ebay or something and hide the brain’s of it deep in the dash behind the radio. Don't worry there is room. Plug the brains of the radio into the CAN-BUS plug so the amp turns on but cut the signal wires to the amp and run them to the new radio.

Keep in mind I haven’t done this my self yet but it should work.

Sorry for the long post and hope it works.
