Pioneer service told me to return the unit

I am scheduled to get my F-90BT installed in my'08 corvette with a whole system (speakers, amps, rear camera, sub etc..)

 

Because of all of the issues I've been reading here, I had to call Pioneer myself. After getting the runaround like most of us here, I finally was able to speak to someone that gave me some information.

 

Yes, they know about most of the problems

Yes, they are working on them

No, they have no idea when the updates will be out

 

Finally, I asked if there were hardware issues.

She said we are not given that information.

 

So I asked her if I should have the unit installed and wait for the update.

 

She said "No" I would return the unit and get a different model.

 

I asked her again to clarify and she said that right now she would not buy an "F" series and would return the AVIC-F and get a different series or brand.

 

Interesting marketing approach?
