brisk
Hello, I tried to search the forums and can't find a definite answer. I was wondering for the 700BT, can you play movies from the SD card or iPod while moving if you do the bypass? Or is the ability to watch movies only for the 900BT/90BT. Thank you. HiFiSi
Yes, you can.
brisk
Thanks for the reply. Another member has mentioned that it may have to be in a certain format to play off of an SD card for the 700BT. Do you or anyone know what format it has to be in? Thank you again. skicrave
The F700900/90 are all the same in this regard. The only difference between the F700 and 900/90 when it comes to video playback is that the F700 does not have a DVD mechanism built in, only a CD.
brisk
Thank you for the reply. So the 900/90 can actually play actual DVD's? Do you know what format these units can play? According to Pioneer's site, it says that the 900/90 are the ones that can play DIVX and not the 700. Is that true? Thank you.

THE f700BT doesnt have a dvd player. it only plays movies and videos thru the ipod sd card and usb. bt ive read on another thread that the sd card and usb videos cant be in mpeg4 like on the ipod. brisk
Thanks for the replies again. Great forum, and great people here! I guess paying about $100 more for the 900BT is worth it. As if I recall correctly didn't someone say that loading up with the iPod connected takes like 1-2 minutes while without takes 30 seconds? Thanks again.
skicrave
If you have an iPod connected and voice recognition catalog turned on then it takes quite a bit longer before you can control the iPod. Making sure the iPod isn't connected when you turn on the car and then connecting it will decrease the amount of time this process takes considerably. This has nothing to do with how long the system takes to boot though, that's just a long time regardless of whether or not an iPod is connected. Personally, the last thing I want to do is lug DVD's out to my car to watch a movie, so that wasn't a big deal for me. MSN Direct would be a bigger issue.
brisk
Thanks for the reply. I forgot about the MSN Direct. Is that service worth it? Just out of curiousity, do more people tend to purchase the 700 or the 900/90 So can I play .avi and .mpg from my SD card on the 700? Thanks again.
HiFiSi
I suggest you download and look through the manual for your unit. It will tell you what format each type of media (CD/USB/SD) will be able to play. it's near the end in the specifications section.
