brisk
I was just curious, there are a lot of retailers online selling the F900's for around less than $800. Are they legit? Seems to good to be true...
brisk
For example... autotoys.com http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=10835 And wilddigital too has the 700BT for 605 and 900BT for 751. A LOT cheaper than crutchfield...
VBLUE42
These are all mostly non dealers and they probably got them from other dealers that wanted to get rid of them because they were either returned or they couldn't sell them because of all of the problems, or both. Either way I would not consider buying from any of these sites.
brisk
I see. Even though they state that they are completely new, it still isn't a good idea? How about eBay?
916Kev
They might be new but the warranty won't be honored by Pioneer.
brisk
Ah... I didn't know that Pioneer wouldn't honor the warranty... Thanks for the replies.
capper
Screw autotoys, Abt has it cheap. Good authorized dealer.
HiFiSi
Pioneer's warranty only covers the unit if it's bought from a Pioneer authorized retailer. Which, more often than not, are the places selling them for around MSRP.
VBLUE42
Ebay is even a worse idea. You will screw yourself out of warranty and you never really know if your really getting a new unit or not.
cactor
got my F700BT for $605 shipped from autotoys, great deal, they honor whatever the factory warranty's period is and usually if something is really wrong with your unit they will replace it.
geo1378
Who cares about a warranty, i purchased more electronics than most people and not once did i use a warranty. use some logic here, if you purchase a lot of electronics chances are only 1 out of 10 or less will ever need to use the warranty. but with all the money you saved by not supporting these overpriced retailers like crutchfield you can pay to have it fixed and still be way ahead. Example, we bought a samsung hdtv 3 years at abes of main instead of circuit city. we save $1500 even after the $300 shipping cost than if we bought at circuit city. save your money. i bought my f700bt on ebay from barneys electronics, it shipped the same day and i also had an option to purchase a protection plan from a reliable company after buying it from him. paid $660 instead of crutchfields $
RiCeBrnr
Looks like all those retailers are out of stock on the 900BT. Has anyone found another retailer with availability around a similar price?
GnatGoSplat
I buy lots of electronics, and I mean LOTS. I can't remember the last time I've needed a warranty. I don't to the best of my recollection recall EVER having anything break WITHIN warranty period. I have had stuff break before, but it's almost always around 3-6 months AFTER the warranty period has expired. Just my luck I guess.
