Grounding wires question

Recommended Posts

I know the bypass has been covered but I looked all over and no explained the best way to ground the black/yellow and parking break wire. Also does it matter if all the wires that need grounding are touching? I just want to make sure it is done right. thanks for the help in advance

Just ground them to the black ground wire. No it doesn't matter if they're all touching, that's what they're doing anyway when grounded no matter where they're grounded. The ground is the negitive circut, it's attached to a bare metal part of the chassis of the vehicle as is the negative cable off your battery. By attaching your ground wire to the chassis you are completing this circut through the chassis of the vehicle and thus to the negitive side of the battery.

I have the f700bt the bypass procedure worked great, thanks for that. I have an 2003 Silverado and now the parking brake light is on and when I drive the dash beeps at me to tell me to take it off. Is there a way to turn off the parking brake (like with a switch or something?) Thanks.

If the unit is bypassed, it should have NOTHING connected to your parking brake switch at all. And if it's not connected to the parking brake switch and your car's parking brake light is still on, then there is something wrong with your parking brake switch. Another thing to note is that on some cars, that same light in your dash will light up if your car is low on brake fluid.
