Dochands
Had my 900 installed yesterday. The microphone is placed at the top of the window on the drivers side on my 2004 Hummer. Calls are completely unintelligible in normal traffic and normal speeds. No voice commands are recognizable. The dealer says the Pioneer rep says the thing does not work and will work when they come out with a firmware upgrade in the near future. I think the mic needs to re repositioned and/or wired into the existed Onstar mic above the drivers seat. My iPhone paired with no problem and my contacts transferred up to the ridiculous 400 number limit. Generally pissed off and frustrated that Pioneer has sold a product that is not ready for primetime. I already told the dealer unless this 'firmware' is forthcoming he can take it out, refund my money, and reinstall the D1. And he and Pioneer can eat the cost. Anyone else had this problem? And have a solution?
CamelTowing
No. They all have problems that hopefully the update takes care of
Dochands
Also, will the update brighten the screen? Its barely visible in a variety of day time light conditions.
geo1378
my voice recog works great most of the time. shouldnt buy suvs and hummers, only morons do that with these gas prices.
geo1378
i see many complains about the pioneer system but my voice recognition works almost perfect, most people can hear me unless all my windows are down on a highway. you need a nice quite car not some giant suv that you bought to make up for the small size of something else. plus your supporting terrorists by sucking gas out of the earth. have fun paying 200$ a week in gas bills, i spend about $50 every 2 weeks
HiFiSi
Also, will the update brighten the screen? Its barely visible in a variety of day time light conditions. An update cannot alter any physical aspects of the unit... like the brightness limit of the LCD's backlight.
Dochands
Am I the only one then who finds it unreadable in most conditions? Its a far cry from the readibility of the D1. What good is a nav screen you can't read? Or are we just supposed to use the voice nav prompts and the nonworking voice controls for this joke of a unit. I am feeling like quite the fool right now for upgrading.
