GnatGoSplat
Looks like I won an AVIC-9DVD on eBay. Only problem is it doesn't come with any discs so I'll have to get them elsewhere. If I use the latest software designed for it (CNDV-50MTP) which is designed to upgrade it to touchscreen compatibility, does that mean it will no longer work via remote control and MUST be used with a Pioneer touchscreen display? I was thinking about using it as an add-on to a non-Pioneer display and just using the infrared remote control. If it will still work that way, will my D1's old 2005 discs work with it? They are v1.0, but I'm guessing they are equivelent to the CNDV-50MTP? I also have the CNDV-60MP I use with my D1, but those don't list the 9DVD as compatible on the Pioneer site. mrbombastic
For remote control the lastest pioneer software is cndv40R if you use cndv50 you must have a touch screen. However if you need the 2006 map update for remote operation PM me.
GnatGoSplat
Anyone have a copy of CNDV-40R and willing to seed it via torrent? I only need the West disc. Also, what is the PCMCIA slot for? What can I put in there?
Bzzliteyr
The PCMCIA slot can be used to upload backgrounds, I put them in a directory called "BG" and makes sure they are appropriate Pioneer size (see backgrounds section in this forum). They cannot be animated. It can also be used to store addresses. Buy a cheap ass CF card and adapter on Ebay to do that. Bzz
