Wizzard005
Aloha all, I saw that someone made a image of how to do the bypass. I took it to the next step I hope this also makes it to the sticky! My New Avic Mute wire in the factory location Mute wire in its new location
HiFiSi
Could have just posted this IN the bypass sticky topic... we don't need this ending up like the damn D-series board with like 4 different sticky topics about the same damn thing.
apicia
I did this and grounded the newly relocated mute wire and the parking brake wire too. Semms to be working fine. Thanks AVIC411.
pugs421
I relocated the mute wire and grounded it along with the parking brake wire as illustrated but the unit says that it detected an incorrect parking brake connection (or something like that). When I say I grounded them I mean I tapped it into the black ground coming out of the head unit (which is grounded correctly). This should still work right? IOW I don't have to connect the two wires to the chasis in order for the bypass to work right?. I'm not sure what I could have done wrong, but this is a first for me.. Thanks... Double check that you moved it to the correct location and that whatever you used to tap the ground lead went all of the way through the jacket (if you didn't cut and solder the connection). pugs421
I quickly saw my oversight after I took out my radio and took another look. ** Bypassing is easy, just follow the guide **
tacomaboy
Hmm it looks like on the pioneer.ini on the data.zip file, there is a parking_break_speed=16.0. Changing that to 200.0 might be a software method to this hack.
jasonnorm
I have confirmed that changing the parking_break_speed value does in fact bypass the video/gps restriction without changing any wiring. I set the value to 128 (thought it odd that they picked 16, so I assumed they were using the standard 1,2,4,8,16 binary notation so I chose a number that would fit in that series, hence 128). I know this works because I just installed this unit 2 days ago and did NOT use any bypass. With the change made to the ini file, I can now enjoy video while traveling up to 128 MPH

BorisM
pioneer.ini file in DATA'ZIP's project_config folder
damorris25
Except unless I'm mistaken, the "software" hack still requires you to ground the parking brake wire. I applied Boris's latest Data.zip and the software hack alone has not removed the GPS/Video restrictions. Boris or anyone - did you still have to ground the parking brake wire in addition to the software hack?
BorisM
I believe you do. You probably just don't need to move the Mute wire. The system, if I understand it correctly, still needs to think that the brake is engaged. Software bypass just changes at what speed it starts complaining that you have not connected it right and locks you out...
coolnkw
how do you get to the ini file. Thank you
