wiremodded AVIC N-1 w/60M disc won't navigate

Recommended Posts

OK, amp3d, awesome!! Thanx, and re-iterate, lift up that first clip(yes I broke/superglued back that first ribbon, thinking the connector slid out) those will find the guide, read the text before looking at all those pictures...

Problem. I have an N-1 that had only the brake bypass, and I was running 40mt software. Worked great. Wanted 60m map. I did the wire solder, worked great, took me about an hour. Upgraded avic-n1, left all wires hooked up (I don't/never had speed sense hooked up(got lazy))

After software upgrade, I can play video on 60M software, I do get both nags, but I can do 55mph :) and have video playing.

Here's my delimma (I now have 40mt software back on)
I can't use the navigation period on the 60M software The maps are nice, looks great, but I cannot push the button that says "address" "phone number" "vicinity search" at all no matter what.

I reflashed back to 40mt software and everything works, including selecting destinations. I again loaded 60M back on, and it just won't let me do anything except "go home" and map search. Anyone? Please?

Is your parking brake wire just grounded? If it is, that's your problem. The avic has to see a ground after it boots otherwise it'll leave evrything greyed out. Best bet is hook it up to a switch and make sure you turn the switch off and then back on.

I did try disconnecting ground, and in settings/hardware, I saw the brake go high, and low. I reconnected ground while radio was on, and same thing.

I had the brake hardwired to ground forever with the 40mt software.
1. Are you saying that I need to make a toggle switch for the 60m software?

2. the software I'm trying to use is cndv-60mv1060m, is this correct for the AVIC-N1

No matter what I start this N1 with, brake on/off or toggle on/off the only three buttons that work in destination is return home, go to anatomies, and address book.

Vicinity search, address search, telephone search, and the two other selections do not work with my 60m disc. can SOMEONE PLEASE VERIFY that I can use these 60 discs(above post) with the AVIC-N1. I have to take a trip to Texas, and I do not have my 40 series west coast disc, unless someone lets me ftp in to them. I have to goto Texas tomorrow night. Again, here's my problem

1. If I use 40M software, w/brake grounded, I can use navigation
2. When I upgrade to 60 software(hope this software works w/AVIC-n1) I can only return home/goto anatomies/goto address in my address book.
I have the N1 Wiremodded, and yes, I can watch movies while driving, and the navigation will pop up when it's time to turn.

My problem is:
I cannot select destination/vicinity search w/my navigation discs in. I tried both east/west coast, no luck. Please someone help me, or if anyone has 40 west coast from biloxi ms to houston texas I can go out of way to get a copy. Thanx again, and please someone help me w/this delimma

Everything sounds like it's right. I feel like the problem may be with the DVD's themselves with the N3 software. I'm using a 60MP disc that I downloaded online and it works just fine. I'm not sure what the differences are between MP and MV, but maybe that has something to do with it??

I would try downloading a new copy of the software and reinstall it. Search the torrent sites for a copy.

If I were you, I'd just go ahead and download a torrent program. I use Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/) and it's great. I used to use IRC for downloads, but it's so unreliable and downloads generally are much slower. Once you go with torrents, you'll never go back to IRC.

Remember to buy Dual-Layer DVD-R's since each image file is over 6GB.

Since I already burned the East Cost DVD, I no longer have the original image files from the torrent. Could you do me a favor and either attach to this post or e-mail me just the .mds file (should be like 2 kb in size).

I'll then go through step-by-step what I did to fix the read/write protection and post the instructions here on the forum.
