boot time

I am thinking about getting a f90bt. But I am on the fence. I keep reading about the Boot time, how long is the boot time? Dose the radio or cd player work while it is booting?

Under a minute on mine. Radio comes on within 10-20 seconds. Not sure about CDs, I haven't listened to one yet

the boot time is a pain and for me its the same as cameltowing

 

but if thats your only concern, i would wait and see what the members here accomplish because they are currently working on finding ways to quicken the boot time, or eliminate it entirely

O i hate when i do that. I tell you what when you get up and leave the house before the suns up. When you turn the car on and the radio is up OMG. If you weren't awake before you are know

Pioneer should add an option that allows us to set the turn-on volume that the system defaults to. Most OEM systems have that option now-a-days, and it's really nice.

with the eu version 1900 i can adjust the volume after about 3 sec as the music starts. but that might be to late and the neighbours already awake.

Who would have ever thought you could use your decks "boot up time" as a selling point for remote start! LOL

Boot up time is one of, if not THE biggest complaint of mine, and its the one Pioneer says they cant (or wont) address.

 

At best its a minor annoyance, at worst its infuriating.

Here's something interesting - I booted the unit in testmode, and as soon as WinCE was up, the HDRadio was playing with volume control. I assume that's a hardware passthrough from the HDRadio module.

 

But yeah - I posed a boot time question in the thread below: Is it different based on the model? I recorded my times as (F90BT):

 

Ignition on to first light/Splash Screen: 07 secs

Splash Screen to the end of "loading": 76 secs

Ability to use unit (background tasks I assume): 88 secs

Bluetooth Connection: 106 secs

Fully functional, no lag : 115 secs
