GPSdependent
I just got the Avic-F900BT installed in my car and I wonder if it is possible to have the product calculate alternate routes before even starting to travel. I have tried to find the feature, read the manual and several forums, but seem not to find it. I own one of the first on-dash TomTom navigators and I use that feature quite often when trying to avoid certain roads that I don't like driving, etc. I am aware that if I get off course, the Avic will automatically calculate the best alternate route, but what I'm looking for is the possibility of choosing the route I want, or the possibility of instructing the system to avoid a specific part of the initially calculated route. Any suggestions? Thanks!
HiFiSi
It will only calculate 1 route. BUT, you can set the naqv to calculate by shortest distance, shortest time, least turns, etc. The setting for that is in the nav menu.
dericn
....or the possibility of instructing the system to avoid a specific part of the initially calculated route. You CAN avoid roads and maneuvers. See this thread... http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16201 -Eric
