I found something interesting today on ebay. There is a 32GB KingSpec 2.5" PATA/IDE SSD Solid State Disk on ebay. The note that caught my eye was that Device Manager shows it as a MK6008GAH which is a Toshiba part. If you google that part your will find the link that takes you to a web site http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=StorageSolutions/1.8-inchHardDiskDrives/MK6008GAH. It looks like they are using the controller form this drive and pairing it up with NAND memory in-place of a spinning disk. I am working on ordering one to give it a test run. The ebay link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260537104584&ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT if anyone else wants to give it a go as well.

I think you misread the ebay ad... The ad is telling to you check device manager to confirm it will work. e.g. = "for example"... The ad does not state that device manager shows it as a MK6008GAH. The MK6008GAH was a 1.8" mini hard drive.

FROM THE EBAY AD:

Confirm before buy

The model of the device. (e.g. SONY VIAO VGN-P11Z)

The model of original hard disk driver(HDD). (e.g. MK6008GAH)

Question: How to check the model of HDD?

Answer: Check it in the "Device Manager" of Windows.
