Where's the MUTE

I must be a moron. I can't find the mute button. I'm not talking about muting when navi voice or cell call comes in but just a regular mute button.

Does anyone know if a mute button exists?

No I don't think there is, you can hold down the vol - button or hold down the AV button to stop the audio.

There isn't one. You can have it though if you get a remote or a PAC steering wheel interface if you have steering wheel controls.

if u hav a ne pioneer remote, hit the att button or get the cd-sr1 remote 4 the z1 to control bluetooth n voice command keys.

There isn't one, but you can hook up a toggle switch or a push-on push-off switch to the cell mute wire on one end and ground the switch on the other.

Then, whenever you want to mute tbe sound, flip or press the switch and it will ground the cell mute wire and mute the unit.

Thanks for all the input. I guess Ill just have to push n hold the AV button. This unit does everything. I cant believe the Z1 doesn't have a mute.

It has an attenuate (mute) capability through the hard wired remote port. I used a switch on my steering wheel controls for it.

I can verify this. The PAC-swi-ps has an odd programing "feature" that seems to leave any unused button as the ATT function. So, my "Power" button on my steering wheel controls is the ATT button. Works great!

My question is..... How do you turn the power off on this thing and just use the NAV?

FWIW, my aviator's stock GPS unit (which is also the A/V system) does not have a mute. I got the Z1 installed in my Civic last Friday so I was used to switching to the audio and hitting pause or just turning down the volume knob.

Go figure, maybe mute is not a common thing on car radios. I can't remember ever seeing a mute button on one.
