HOW TO: Add Branded POI icons :UPDATED: 04-21-09

Recommended Posts

Sorry for not being clear. What I meant was that once I copied branded icons it worked, but now I can no longer add my own icons using my USB/SD card when creating a new custom POI. Before when you create a new POI it would ask you to put in an icon but the option is gone to add from USB/SD.

The only way I know of to add a custom icon to a created POI is with avic feeds and that still works the same as before. I have created POI's with the unit and used icons from the list of branded icons without any problem.

I guess your right... I will double check.

Thanks!

Is there a way to display branded icons for "Starbucks", "Dunkin Donuts", etc. when you approach it nearby?

Also for the restaurant icons, I get the bread icon. How do I change it to the default fork/knife one?

Answer to the first question is no. The answer to the second question is to remove the branding file at which all of the original files will return.

That question has already been addressed several times in this thread. The file is not 100% compatible with the category setup in the Avic causing some icons to not appear as desired. It will take someone with knowledge to edit the category setup in the Avic itself to change this and that is beyond my knowledge.
