PaisanNYC
There are quite a few threads here about this already. Can't be done. Only from CD's

The Z1 played it just fine.
silveradojeff
hey attilas, how did you burn the mp3 dvd? i also tried and had no luck, the z1 said disc cannot be read or something like that? what program did you use to burn? and did you do anything special? thanks for any help
cntrylvr79
Probably burned as a dvd audio disc. I've run a few dozen different programs burning dvds with mp3s on them and had no luck getting any of them to read on the z1 we had on display.
Cirbirus
I think it's pretty fair to completely ignore attilas' post. It's his first post and he hasn't bothered to answer. This generally means someone "knows" something should be true but in fact is not but that doesn't stop them from fosting (false-posting).
silveradojeff
"fosting" nice sniglet!! lol
cntrylvr79
Yeah would be nice if useless posts like this could be deleted or something.
attilas
I guess I should quit posting at 2:30 in the morning. I screwed up thinking that I had burned a DVD data disk and instead had burned a CD data disk. Sorry to have some people have a shit fit about it. Honest mistake. Probably no consolation. but the CD does work just fine. The player recognizes the CD with well over 100 songs on it.

cntrylvr79
In order to transfer ANY songs from cd to the hard drive the cd MUST be burned as an AUDIO cd. That means about 20 tracks maximum.

Just dragged the files (MP3's) from my hard drive. The ID tags were read just fine. I always clean up my ID tags so that they display the correct info. The display of the unit lists the track numbers with the file names, whereas as the top of the display lists the artist & song from the ID tag.

silveradojeff
i had tried a few times to make an mp3 cd that would play on teh z1 and failed. I found my mistake, i was using the multisession format which wont work. i never even noticed that before because its automatically checked. I had to uncheck it. now it works fine. you can put about 8-12 albums on 1 disc. and its very easy to search from album to album , better than the ipod.
