gilster85
i just installed the avic-z1 in my car but for some reason the cd player doesnt work. you can only hear the subs but nothing else. the radio and everything else is working fine this is just when u play a cd. Does anyone know if this problem is as easy to fix as to just changing a setting of would the unit possibly be bad? would this have anything to do with the july2006 bypass? DJ Machismo
So just to be straight. All the other sound sources have the speakers working correctly? If they are never working, a speaker wire is unintentionally grounded. If its only the CD player, then we shall have to look into this further. -Litos

cntrylvr79
What kind of car is it? sounds like there might be an amp in the car. Try disconnecting the blue wire of the z1 harness from what it's connected to and hook the blue/white wire in it's place.
gilster85
thanks guys for your help but i called pioneer and it turns out i just had to change the antenna setting to power. they said it was a very common problem so if anyone is having the same problem heres your solution. Now you dont have to be on hold with pioneer for an hour.
