carlsbad0331 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Share Posted February 9, 2009 I took the time to install the beta WIndows 7 on a spare machine that I have and I am pretty impressed. Although in typical Microsoft fashion they have loaded it with a lot of useless junk and "pretty things". The base OS seems alot more stable and responsive than Vista Ultimate. GnatGoSplat Posted February 9, 2009 Report Share Posted February 9, 2009 I have it on my laptop and also on a Dell Mini 9 netbook. I like it so far, but I hate the new "Sidebar" which isn't really a Sidebar. With Vista, I had my Sidebar set to "Always on top" which was great with a widescreen monitor. I replaced the new Sidebar with the old Vista one and I'm happy again. I didn't really see a lot of performance difference, but Vista ran pretty quick on my computers anyway.
