Auhdabey
Now I cant use the volume knob to change tracks on my ipod/cd when in "map" mode (I used to be able to push it right or left like previous and next) Now I have to exit "Map" mode and select the AV Source that is playing to change tracks.... I also cant access the "menu" button when in "map" mode without first going to an AV Source then clicking "Menu" (the little round button) and lastly... When I press the volume button in, I used to get the voice command prompt... Now when I press it I get nothing! What is going on???? HOWEVER, THE BYPASS NOW DOES WORK
VBLUE42
What is going on???? You skrewed it up. Restore your orignal factory backup and do the bypass per the instructions on this site.
Auhdabey
Thats exactly what I did! I restored to my backup and reconnected everything per the Hardware Bypass "How To"...
skicrave
So you did the hardware bypass and you have done no software modifications to the unit?
Auhdabey
No... Not a single software modification! Its so weird... EVERYTHING works just fine, its just that I have to go about accessing things differently since the hardware mod??? I redid the hardware mod, soldered all the connections and made sure the mute pin was in correctly. Im so confused and frustrated
skicrave
Have you reset the unit (by pushing the reset button, not just by power cycling it)?
Auhdabey
Yes, I have reset the unit with the little pin... Is it a trade off with the bypass??? Since everything is grounded to unlock functionality of in motion menus... Does that affect normal use as if the unit was not bypassed?
skicrave
No, it's not a symptom of a correctly performed bypass (and I'm not sure why any wiring changes would cause that). If you're sure it's connected correctly though, it's time to send it back to Pioneer for warranty.

CatchMeIfYouCan631
I wouldn't be surprised if that ebay method is the same as the software bypass on this site..

VBLUE42
you can bypass your unit with ebay its only 24 dollars plus shipping Horrible advise, that wont fix the problem, the bypass on this site is the proper bypass.
skicrave
I'm pretty sure superman was joking, at least I hope he was...
blackh8552
lol... there is documentation on how to do the bypass for free on this site... If you refuse to search and want to pay for it I'll take $19.95 for the same info
superman8262
I'm pretty sure superman was joking, at least I hope he was... LOL yeah I was just messing around =P but I kinda find it funny that the bypass we have here is great, detailed, pictured, step-by-step, TWO options of bypassing available, and yet people cant find it in search AND do it correctly. So FOR THEM, the site is not helping, then i recommend ebay, which i bet is the same thing. i wouldnt be surprised if they even steal the info from this very site here and sell their information on ebay but yeah, i just wanna help. and if the info here is not good enough for them to do it correctly for free, then they can pay for info too.
